Are you a golf fan?

My husband Dale loves to play golf and watch it on TV. Years ago when he first started playing, he tried to teach me. I finally told him, "Honey, I adore you, but you're just going to have to find another golf buddy." He played with three other friends for years until two passed away. Now he mostly plays golf with our son Robert. In fact they're playing this Thursday and Robert's coming for supper tonight and to pick up Landon. Dale and I watched the last part of the Masters which is played in Agusta, GA and I have a new favorite player. It's Scottie Scheffler from NJ/Texas who won this year. Not only is he so young and cute and a fantastic golfer at 25, but he's a born again Christain! I'm so proud of him and I don't even know him!

I played putt-putt golf years ago. A friend goes to the Masters every year. He went last week and saw Tiger Woods play. Not interested at all.

I'm really not a big golf fan and have never tried golfing. Maybe if I had had the opportunity to golf I might have liked it.

@1creekgirl I know I'd never be able to hit the ball very far either. The only time I enjoyed golf was when my boss would take the day off to go golfing and wasn't in the office

Nothing wrong in my eyes with being a Born Again Christian. As long as he's not one of those "mean Christians" who hates h*mos, supports Trump, etc. I like people who follow basic human principles. I have faith in the "human spirit." I have played golf a few times. So far, I SUCK at it. And no I'm not a fan of golf. But I admire those who play it well.

I could never get interested in golf either. Vince likes to play but isn't fanatic about it. It's nice you have a new hero to watch.

My hubby and our son love to golf. I have gone out with him during the pandemic. Its not my favorite thing in the world to do, but I like it more then I did at first. With our son being so busy with the twins, I am sure that I will be out on the course with my hubby this year also. Maybe in time I can rely on our son to go out with him and I stay back to watch the girls, but only time will tell.

I don't watch sport, well sometimes cycling, but if the weather is good enough for televised cycling, then I think I need to be out there myself!

Good that you could say that and he found other golf buddies. Many don't want to upset their spouses and keep doing things that they don't like to do. I think being honest and truthful is so important in any relationship. Glad that his son is now his golf buddy

My first boyfriend in high school had a dad who was a great golf player and he joined the golf club where we lived and taught his son to play too, I went to the golf club only once and through how lovely everything looked but golf was one sport too expensive and I could not even think of learning it,

My dad had 2 daughters instead of 2 sons. He took us crabbing, deep sea fishing, to NFL football and MLB baseball games. He even made us go to golf camp 2 years in a row. I was never good at golf but the swing definitely helped me when I played field hockey in high school.
