Seven Years

Today will make seven years since my mom died of dementia at the age of fifty-five. I miss her. She was so special, and I know many of you would just love her. People say I look just like her, and my dad said our personalities are just like. With Mother's Day so close, were you, or are you, close to your mother?

I’m so sorry. I will tell the world, and you’ll probably agree, that people who love their mothers always have a Mom-shaped hole in their lives after mom passes away. Let those memories be sweet for you, Mothers’ Day and always.

Sadly no--it was a bad relationship but then I 'divorced' my family when I was 16 and never looked back!

I'm so sorry about the loss of your mother. She was way too young. My mother passed away when she was 62. She was my best friend and I miss her every single day.

@DianneN Very true. I take comfort in knowing she was aware of how much she was loved.

@AmbiePam Young is right. At least they loved us and we loved them while they were alive.

I am so sorry, and how sad for you, right around Mother's Day. I am sure she was lovely.. I love my mother alot, although I am not close to her really. We do email fairly frequently, and talk on the phone sometimes.

Oh has it really been that long already? It feels like it was just yesterday that I was reading the post that you wrote about her. My mother passed last June, and I am feeling odd this year this month, noticing her absence. I may have gone thru this anyways, but it may be related to the month, my Dad's birthday was this week and we have Mother's Day approaching and we are waiting for completion of the will.

Sorry that your Mom is gone also. My Mom and I were "extremely" close.

I am so sorry for the loss of your Mom. No, my mother and I were/are not close at all. She let my brother and I know from the time we were little that she never wanted us. When we were teens and able we both left home and have lived our own lives since.
