Biscuits of the empire!

The humble Empire Biscuit. Some call them German Biscuits. I am not sure why. What I do know is that they are extremely tasty!
2 shortbread discs with a layer of jam in the middle, with a healthy layer of icing on top and a chewy, jelly sweet on the very top. The icing on the cake.
These are a treat, and taste good with a cup of tea on an afternoon.
I only seem to be able to get them in Scotland, but I think they would be popular here in England, too. What are your thoughts?

That sounds vaguely familiar, but I'm in the U.S. Maybe someone here tried to copy something like that. In any case, I found them tasty, too, as I recall.

I haven't heard of them in Australia but they certainly sound yummy. I might have to have a look on the shelves and see if we have them here.

I have never heard of this biscuits. They are not available in India.
