Well, I finished IT

Several years ago I purchased a couple of craft kits. The price was right, the colours appealed to me. These kits have been taking up valuable space and a week ago I pull on out and decided to finally make a small bag. First we made the hexies….then we sewed them together. When it was time to assemble the instructions weren’t clear. It took a lot of frustration to get it all put together. Yes the bag is cute….no….I won’t be making another.

It looks cute but I can understand the frustration of it not being worth it.

It is a cute bag. I’m not sure what I’d use it for….but it was a frustrating thing to make.

My mother used to go to a craft day at CWA (Country Women's Association). I guess it's similar to a Mother's Union or somesuch. Anyway, she ended up with a lot of half finished projects so at some point she made a decision to get to work and finish each one. The purse does look cute.

In the last two years I have finished many UFOs (UnFinished Objects). It has been my goal to complete two projects before I can begin another. Mostly I follow this…but sometimes I start a new project before the old one is finished.

@Morleyhunt It's easy to put something aside then not get back to it.

@Morleyhunt very true I’d have never figured out how to finish it up. I get so mad over instructions like that.

The instructions were spot on, until it was time to assemble it to the clasp. Then the abandoned you. What they wanted me to do simply couldn’t be accomplished. Imagine a novice trying to make this?

That is cute. Sadly, I have no crafting talent, and even if I did, I wouldnt have the patience to do it.

My patience was used up by the time the bag was finished.

It’s too much work to make money. I’d rather make quilts.

Maybe the degree of difficulty dictated the good price. At least you finished 1 of the kits, and it does look cute.

I guess others realized what a pain it would be so I succumbed and bought the bargain kit. At least it’s made.

Yes the bag is cute. So the kit was too make the bag then? Too bad they didn't try to make one using their instructions. They may have noticed something needed to be added or changed.

The instructions were so good until the final few…then they lost me….what they wanted me to do simply didn’t work.

@Morleyhunt I made instructions a long time ago when I came up with a pattern for a granny square/ripple hat to go with a blanket and sweater for young babies. I never got around to making another one using my instructions though. But I knew that was something I should do if I hoped to sell the pattern.
