Like A Porcelain Doll

I enjoy watching HSN and QVC. Today they had a beauty cream they were talking about. It got me thinking again about how odd the beauty industry has become over the past ten years or so. The fad, fashion, or whatever now is to make our faces look as much like a porcelain doll as possible. No brown spots, freckles, or moles are allowed. I don't understand it. This, to me, is what gives a woman character. I can see doing something in extreme cases but not the normal blemishes on the face. I can also understand the creams that help even out the skin tone, diminish pores, and brighten the skin. But, come on! Do we really want to look like dolls? Your thoughts. Image is from Google.

NO, I do not to look like a porcelain doll. I use an hydrating cream when my skin is too dry, but that's it.

@celticeagle I use a bit of foundation, not a lot, because my skin is so pale.

I don't use anything on my face. My skin is too oily. I just let it progress as it wants to.

I don't use anything but a night cream and make sure to wash it daily.

I once had a peaches and cream complexion. Years of tanning changed that! I now have dark spots that I loathe. There is a product called Perbelle that I am thinking about trying. However the $40 price tag keeps me from doing so. I am intrigued by the testimonials of countless women of all ages showing how wonderful this product is. But I am so frugal that I can’t buy it. Maybe if they offered a trial size tube I’d give it a go!

If it is the one I think it is it was created for people with bad scars and such. This is the extreme and I can certainly understand this. Yes, a trial size would be nice.

But, to me, it looks like a doll, not a real person.
