If you believe in God, do you follow his Greatest Commandments?

Do you love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, body, and mind? Do you love your neighbor as yourself unconditionally? If you claim to be a follower of Jesus and answered NO to either of these questions, do you believe you have some soul searching to do?

Anyone who says they follow the commandments perfectly is like that rich man who claimed he’d kept all the commandments since his youth. I try. I pray for my neighbors who “aren’t like me,” especially in this time when they might be the targets of hate crimes. It doesn’t bother me that I have atheists, Hispanics, Catholics, blacks, whites, etc. for neighbors. That guy who drives a Ford, however…..

I agree with you. I don't believe any of us could say that we love God or others to the extent we should. I believe that we are to be continually growing in our love for both. And, I think it's important to note that both of those relationships go hand in hand. If I don't love God properly, then my love for others is going to be off. And vice versa. My walk with the Lord is one of continual growth in all areas. And that should be every believer's desire.

@dwdavis In a word, no. I don’t love as I ought. I’m working on it. Thanks for the reminder.

I saw this on Twitter and thought to myself that it perfectly describes the evangelofascist movement that has taken hold in the US since 2016.

I think that takes more than faith like a grain of a mustard seed to do that.

Many I know who say they are christians would have to answer no. I can say yes. I just want to see people be happy. How they live does not change how I choose to live.

Many Christians will be turned back at the pearly gates because some people are very hard to love - it is not easy. But if you love only those who love you - " what glory is there for you?"

It is a big ask, for any normal everyday person to do. I do not do this, nor do I know exactly how to do that. Love is not of the mind, and yet God wants us to use our mind to love him with, too. How is this possible? Perhaps only by our subjugating all of the other conflicting thoughts of our mind to allow the love that God has placed in our heart to overflow over the rest of us, so that we, as a whole then, love as God wants us to love.

The greatest commandment is love, I wish humanity and the various religious sects that preach hate understood this
