The news I received from my father stunned me. He contracted Covid and is currently housebound in isolation with his partner. My father is suffering from a fever, a cough, a cold, and body aches, while her spouse has already recovered from a fever. His current condition is stable, and for the time being, we are in contact via Viber. I believe they contracted it while visiting his partner's brother in the hospital since by the time they returned home, they were already feeling unwell.
My niece, who lives in New York and works at a hospital, also got it and is currently healing at home under quarantine too.

@averygirl72 Yes the last time I check on them their fever had subsided now and is on the mend already. I think the vaccines are working on him at this point.

@LadyDuck Yes that is true one cannot diamiss its lethality but I observed it has lessened as compared to when I got it two years ago. I got the original strain and felt the full wrath of its symptoms. Now that it mutated it has become more infectious but its symptoms have tapered down already maybe because of the effects of vaccine.

Our cases are slowly rising up but still manageable since hospitals are not yet full as of this time. My father seems to be doing well and his symptoms are slowly fading. Just keeping watch if his symptoms would continue to disappear in the coming days.

I am sorry. I hope they have a good recovery. Our Covid numbers are climbing up again, and many hospitals are doing no visitors, unless it's the end of life and then only immediate family. When someone has a baby, only the father or just one person is allowed to go be with the mom when she has the baby--and that person has to stay there, and cannot leave at all until mom and baby get to go home.

I am very glad. I have lost so many family members and friends to Covid. It can be mild, or very scary. Take care of yourself.

Oht it seems they have all recovered already. My father being the oldest that was infected in us is recovering but very slow at the moment. I think that it will take some time for him to fully recover but I think they tested negative already. My sister and niece there in the US is also back to work already.

@RebeccasFarm Thanks for the concern too. I am as well relieved since my father is a senior already and I think Covid is a big risk for him at this point in time. But I guess the vaccines worked well for him that he was able to recover from it.

Looks like it since comparing to myself when I first got it I got the worst symptoms when I was hospitalized back then. Being unvaccinated and there was no real medical procedure to follow recovery was way much harder than now that almost everyone is vaxxed already.

@jobelbojel That is true vaccination is not able to stop the infection but it could slow down when you are infected and not hit hard by it.

Looks like the virus is also mutating for its survival so it is hard to totally eliminate them. But the good thing right now is that it seems like the virus is not as lethal as it was. Most of the infected are either showing mild symptoms unlike before. I think this is the effect of the vaccines, it cannot make us immune but it makes us stronger in blocking its serious symptoms from attacking us.

@rsa101 The virus looks like just an ordinary fever and flu because it is not as deadly as before. Thank God for the gift of technology and for the scientists.

@jobelbojel True the vaccines have somehow made us a bit stronger in defending against the virus. Although I do believe that it will take some time before we can final stop this once and for all or they become a seasonal disease.

@DianneN Yes I am too. I think they did well to somehow weakened the virus strain to be less deadly nowadays. The only thing they have is their high transmissibility from one person to another but the symptoms have been significantly lessened as compared to when I got it when I was not vaccinated.

Yes, I am in constant communication with them. I am a bit worried since my father is old and diabetic and has a heart problem. But I am confident that he is vaxxed already and got his booster shots so hopefully that would help him recover faster too. I cannot visit his place as well since that is not advisable at this time they are in isolation.
