I got duped again

Last year of May I had trouble with my old laptop battery online, it won't even turn on after i put the charger on it. So, I bought a new battery, and charger. but I sent the charger back and got my refund.
Trouble now is that after a year and two months this laptop battery turns off immediately once i removed the charger. They're supposed to last two to four years.
I am going back to that technician at the mall and have mine replaced. I was told buying computer stuff online is a very bad idea.

I did buy a usb adaptor for my macbook pro and it has been with me for three years but still working fine.

I think usb adaptor is entirely different from laptop battery @toniganzon mine surely won't work for another two years.

A laptop battery pack is usually just 6 pieces of 18650 size batteries inside ( ones they use for vaping), just buy expensive original 18650 and have it repacked, he must have placed cheap Chinese knock off batteries that do not last long. Tell the technician this so he knows you are knowledgeable and he can't dupe you. That would solve it if battery is the only problem and not the charging unit.

I ordered this battery online, which is why I think i got duped @louievill I think the technician was sincere when she replaced my moms laptop battery. I'm hoping he could do the same thing to my laptop.

So, in your experience how long supposed to be the life expectancy of the laptop battery @solidcodes the laptop battery on this laptop lasted more than ten years before it started giving in.

Batteries when they are fully exhausted usually mean that the machine is also old and time to replace a new one instead of buying a replacement battery. They do not last long too since the machine is faulty already and would really drain your battery fast.

Don't buy online, I bought a celfon one time Samsung Galaxy only to learn it has been used and can't anymore see the seller online. Then it's battery lasted only some months. There's rampant cheaters online.
