My mind has been slipping.

Usually I am on top of my bills. I know things and keep track of when other bills are due. However, this last month or two I've forgotten two bills. I paid them of course, but still. One of the bills I forgot was the water bill. Thankfully they didn't turn off my water. I just had to pay two months worth. Oh well, I'll be more on top of it for next time. If I'm lucky, I'll stay dry today. Summer is coming to an end and we're finally getting the rain we usually get during the hotter months. Better late than never, right?

Hopefully, the rain will cool things off. I rarely forget a bill but it has happened. I think I forgot one last month..I know one time several years back I forgot the electric bill, and was shocked to see two months worth! I didn't get any threats from them, just a double bill unfortunately!

Same with the water bill, double billed. Paid it today so I'm good until next month. If it had progressed my water might've been cut off. Thankfully all it took was a curtsy call from the city.

@snowy22315 No, and I know I didn't intentionally.

Were blessed to have a well but I had a similar mishap with our power bill. Our credit card company sent us new cards with new expiration dates. I have most things set up for auto draft. Oops! Won't work without the correct exp. date.

No, it doesn't. Apple Wallet makes it a little easier. As long as I remember my three digits security code.

@Mysticpizza I agree about technology, which is why I rarely use my calendar apps and rely on my memory. It's worked well, but I am human. Due to my disabilities, I literally can't write things down in the traditional sense.

@kaylachan I read an article on how we have become so dependent on electronics that it's affecting us in a very negative way. The article suggested writing things down and that helps lock it into one's memory. I have always done this. My husband asked why I don't use my phone for the grocery list. Well if I forget my list I can usually recall all or maybe miss one item BECAUSE I had previously written it down.

I go years between slipping on a bill. Had it happen recently though. I have a lot of stuff to keep up with and remember. Maybe you just have to much to do as well.

I sometimes forget to pay a bill as well. I just do it when I remember.

Maybe your mind was so busy with other things forgetting the water bill. It also happened at home. We realized we haven't paid when we received the disconnection notice hehe. So we rushed t the office to pay.

I forgot to pay a bill until the next day and got a $29 late charge! Never again. After a dry summer, we finally got a few drops of rain today.

Yeah, that has happened to me before. Once I've forgotten to pay a bill, it never happens to me a second time with that same bill. I become overly cautious, LOL!
