A drink revived my cyclamen

I have posted about the cyclamen I received as a gift and how worried I was about it dying. I’ve been taking it with us to all our house-sits and I’ve been careful not to over-water it. Over-watering is one of the main reasons why cyclamens die. I’ve also been keeping it outside and away from any heat sources. These two photos were taken recently. In the top photo, you can see that the flower heads are drooping. The leaves were starting to droop too. I watered it and within a very short time, the stalks were sitting up nice and straight again. It still has a couple of buds on it. It will be interesting to see if they open up or not. But I’m pleased I’ve been able to keep it alive this long at least.

If only the plants could tell, which drink they like the best, we might choose to give them something to their liking.

@JudyEv your traveling cyclamen really does need a name. I wonder if it will be bored being at home for a whole month?

I've been thinking that. lol A drink certainly perks me up. Once we get home on Monday, the cyclamen will have a month at home. I might need to give it a name soon.

As well as it perked back up, I believe you caught it in time. The buds should open up in their time.

Up at Grass Valley, it was even more wilted but came back. At least, I'm not over-watering this one - yet!

@sol_cee I don't understand the question I'm afraid. However, you won't need a stopper if you drink the whole bottle.

I probably won't water it again till it starts to droop. I think other times I've over-watered it and kept it inside where it's too warm for its liking.

That happens with all the tender plants and vine. It's so magical to see that. Isn't it? So nice that the cyclamen is surviving and thriving. I am curious to see how the blooms will look. It's looking pretty with all the buds.

Looks like you were able to make it survive and I guess that plant would be curios why she is at a different place everytime you transfer places. I think plants do not travel that far and wide when planted but this plant is so lucky to have traveled that far and wide. From the looks of it seems like it may grow well and lived well.

Are you letting it go dormant in the summer so it flowers again? I think these are so pretty. Always hard for me to grow. I did have one that did okay for several years.

I'll have to read up what to do when it stops flowering. I guess it would still need an occasional drink. Our summers are very hot so maybe I'd bring it inside in the summer.

Better to under water than over water. They recover immediately when they are thirsty and you water them.

Hydrangeas are like that too. You can think that you've killed them but they stand up again after a good drink.
