I really only got to know of her because of the Golden Girls and boy was she funny in that series. I think that's when she became a favorite with many fans. However, recently I started watching the 1970s sitcom the Mary Tyler Moore show and when Betty White joined that comedy she was a very different kind of character. I'm putting a link to one of the episodes she played in because I thought it was hilarious, tell me what you think of it:

She was a talented actress, and enjoyed such a career living such a long life.

I agree. Most of all she loved animals and for that she gets double the votes as far as I'm concerned

I hope more talent comes around in the new sitcoms but right now I can't think of a single new comedy that I'd care to watch, the acting in most of them is dry and humorless.

Yeah, most comedy isn't really funny to me either but once in a while a good movie with someone like Sandra Bullock comes around that's funny but I doubt she'd ever do TV.

@rebelann Okay I got to watch it just now..hilarious and I seem to remember this one too Oh yes the comedies and what they call funny now is really strange to me. Why I do not watch comedies anymore.

Love her! I couldn't tell you what all I've seen her in . . . but I just knew her all throughout my childhood (perhaps because of what my parents watched?). She is too cute - wonderful actress and so funny too!!

@rebelann I don't remember a lot about the Mary Tyler Moore Show, but I know I watched it - perhaps my younger memories of her stem from that. I am thinking she must've been on The Carol Burnett Show. I am almost sure she was on episodes of The Love Boat. She was on That 70s Show too. She seemed to have been on a lot of shows!! Maybe even Sesame Street or The Muppet Show!

I loved her and remember when she was still married to Allen Ludden, the love of her life. She was a wonderful actress and so quick and hilarious.

I enjoyed the acting work of the late Betty White since I did see her on the television game called "Match Game" in which she was a part of six panelists who had to guess the answer from a contestant who answered a question from the host who was the late Gene Rayburn.

Betty wasn't exactly acting on the Match Game, have you ever watched the Golden Girls? She was really funny on that show.

Back in the early 70s I was partying too much and never really watched a whole lotta TV. I started watching the Mary Tyler Moore Show about 2 weeks ago on HULU.

She was so very talented. I hope I can find at least one show where she had a dramatic rather than comedy part, I have to wonder how she'd be in one.

Yes, she was very talented but it seems most of it was in comedy, I don't know if she ever played a dramatic role.
