My Mom's Death Day

My mother's first anniversary of passing away is today. I'm going to the church for the mass offering later.  We just completed this ritual practice last December 30, 2022, known as "the end day of grief." I need to go to bed because it is now quarter to one in the morning. We'll cook and place some of my mom's favorite foods on her altar later. Do you celebrate death day? No, we don't do that... I'm sorry for your loss.

It's okay. I am optimistic that she is happy in heaven now. She must've reunited with her loved ones there, especially with my old man.

@Shavkat Yes, I'm sure, whatever she wanted was there waiting on her.

Sorry about your loss. The anniversary dates are hard for sure. Thoughts are with you. Try to remember the good times.

Before I sleep, I lit a candle on her altar and whispered a prayer for her.

Here there is always a mass in that day but it is not a celebration. I am sorry about your mom.

I also perceived that it is not a celebration, but to remember those who passed away.

Wow it has that been long already. Well we do not celebrate it like a birthday, we sometimes just hear a mass for her and if it's possible we do eat but we never put food on her anymore.

It will be a time to reminisce the moments of being with her in the past. I accepted the fact that she is our angel now. Perhaps she is happier with my father in heaven now.
