National Memory Day

Happy Thursday Everyone! another rainy day here but thankfully it's just a light constant rain and not downpours.
It's a good day for reading and crocheting but that will be after I get the things done that need doing.
I have the laundry going while I enjoy my coffee and chat here for awhile.
Since it's rainy and damp I figure it's a perfect day for some homemade chicken soup. I'll put it all in the slow-cooker and let it do all the work.
I'm finally getting back into the groove after a slow start to the new year. Aside from having that pain in my back I feel like I went through a big let-down after the holidays were over. So much going on to prepare for the holidays then the actual holidays and then nothing going on when they were over. I don't consider myself to be a depressed person but I guess I had a case of the blues.
I feel more like my cheery old self the last few days.
I heard on tv this morning that it's National Memory Day. I'm surprised I remembered to tell you
Have a good day and hope you have something to smile about

My back is doing 99% better so my mood has improved
I'm reading a good book called Sold on a Monday but can't remember the author.

@DianneN I'll have to look for those books you mentioned. I can't have too many books or too much yarn

@Marilynda1225 So glad to hear it! Hopefully, it will be 100% soon.
All I need is the title. I rarely remember authors, too.
I read After Anna and heard Horse is good.

I’m glad it’s national memory day. It’s also Dolly Parton’s birthday, and who can forget her!!!
Hope you have a great day, too!

It's raining here, too. At least it's JUST rain and not a wintery mix! (My phone says it's sunny with clear skies here... )
The temp is supposed to be going toward 41F today but we started out at 34F at 6 am and have gone clear up to 32F right now, at 11 am... I don't think we'll make it to 41F today.
I had to get vampired first thing this morning and I'm really tired now. I'm about ready to call it good and go to sleep. I hope you enjoy your day. I'll talk with you later.

@Marilynda1225 Thanks... I woke up too early, I think, but will take another nap later when people aren't talking with me.
I was right, the temp topped out at 37F here and is already sliding back down again. It's still drizzling but, at least the Weather Channel says it's cloudy instead of sunny now.
Oh, yeah, @just4him LOVES snow... I took the liberty of inviting a friend from Portugal and her family to meet me at Valerie's house to play in the snow while I cook everyone a nice dinner. I don't see any reason you can't join us there. You know the saying, the more the merrier. I'm happy we didn't see any of her snow, too.

Hope you have a good sleep and wake up feeling refreshed.
We're hovering around the freezing mark this afternoon and I know that Valerie @just4him is happy that the order for snow didn't get mixed up this time and was delivered to her this morning

I knew you'd be happy with your snow arrival today. It is pretty and I love looking at it in your pictures. I don't hate snow I just intensely dislike it

Rain is more welcome than snow unless of course if it's too much. Too much of anything isn't good I guess
My back does feel better thanks

@Marilynda1225 Yeah, today is foggy though. Almost as foggy as I have seen it here, and I had to drive around in it a bit.

Happy memory day. I hadn't heard of that one. Getting through the holidays can be hectic. Then the calm after to me is wonderful

This is the first time I've felt the letdown after the holidays
Usually I enjoy the peace and quiet

Glad your memory kicked in, I work on mine constantly, If I forget something I stop and stand still and think until my memory kicks in and I can say so far so good, My cats always make me smile like when I go into the kitchen and call food time and then Ringo runs in and wraps his paws around the lower part of the fridge handle and swings there,

Guess I'm not the only one to get the January blues. The holidays were so exciting for me even with all the hubbub and I guess the buildup just leads to a letdown when it's all over. It was also a little sad putting away all the decorations and taking down the tree. But I"m back on an upswing and looking forward to spring

Is your back still hurting? I'll do a deep cleaning of my apartment tomorrow. That's what we usually do before Chinese New Year.

My back is 99% better with just an occasional twinge. I'm feeling better and sleeping better so I'm sure that helps too. I did all my deep cleaning before Christmas. Hope you enjoy your New year

All the excitement and preparations for the holidays was fun but once it was over it was just a letdown.
Hope you're having a good day and no more storms.

I’m glad you’re feeling back to your old self .
National memory day hmm I remember being about 4 and going somewhere with my grandma. I told her I was cold and she went back in and got me a sweater but it was for soneobe about half my age. When we went wherever we were going she forgot where we were and my aunt had to come get us. I clearly remember the elk statue we were parked by. I don’t think she was allowed to drive after that. This was when she got Alzheimer’s.

I am sorry that you feel a bit down today.
I have gone through that in years gone by, it really kind of sneaks up on a person, and with your back not feeling the greatest, that would not help.
I worked at the office today, and did not have access to my SAD lamp. I do notice the difference. I felt like I had alot less energy today and felt sluggish. I was surprised that I would feel it just over 1 day, but I did.
