Chocolate hummus

Hummus (also spelled houmous, etc.) is a spread or dip made from chickpeas or garbanzo beans. Two names for the same thing. I have had traditional hummus in a middle eastern restaurant. I have had hummus from the grocery store brands, and I have made my own. I like it and believe it to be very healthy. The grocery stores and some online cooking sites have presented various flavored hummus products. I found some Dark Chocolate Hummus in a mark down section, so I had to give it a try. It is delicious. Not overly sweetened. It satisfies a chocolate craving in what I believe is a healthy way. So of course I am looking at recipes. I am enjoying spreading chocolate hummus on pancakes and waffles. Then I do not add butter, and use only a tiny bit of syrup if any. I am looking for other flavor suggestions to make as well

Yes, and it satisfies that craving with less sugar.

I've come across various flavors of hummus but never chocolate... I'd give it a try if I ever find it.

I have seen recipes for brownie batter hummus (and I've even seen it in the store). I wonder if you'd also like to try snickerdoodle hummus?
Snickerdoodle Dessert Hummus -  a sweet twist on traditional hummus but with some cinnamon & sweetness for a deliciously sweet and healthy snack.

I just might. I only buy it if it is on sale or discount. Otherwise I would make it. I will have to look at this recipe.

That sounds a very good find. I've had 'ordinary' hummus before but chocolate hummus sounds much better.

I do not care much for the beans as such. I have made traditional hummus which is often lemony.

My childern and their father love dips. We used to have them every weekend with Turkish bread. I haven't tried the chocolate one yet.

I enjoy chickpeas in a salad, as a side but don't like them in hummus. I don't know if it is a textural thing or what. Dark chocolate hummus sounds interesting. I wonder if I could get past the texture. Glad you found some and are enjoying it.
