I need to go to herbal shop because my herbal was drainng off. It is located in Kalibata near the railway. So I walked down the road beside the railway. A train passed by and it blow its horn suddenly. I was quiet surprise and irritate. The sound feels like blowing my ear. Cars and motorcycles were in line waiting the train to passed. Then, after it passed, the cars and motorcycles were blowing their horns too because some people wanted to cross the road. I wonder if I lived there, I couldn't make a peace of mind. Those blowing horn could make me feel stressed. Photo is mine

There is a railway crossing a few kilometers away in our city. I rarely hear the horns blow when it speeds through the city, though. I'm sure people who live near it don't notice the sound after a while.

My place is also kilometers away from the station. I can hear the horns blow only when midnight. I guess so, they don't feel bother because they get used to it

@DaddyEvil there is a rumor here that, a train in the middle of the night is a ghost train. The nearest train station in my place is a Commuter Line, it only operates from 5am -12 pm

Well not right near it, but a distance away like here. I am about 1 mile from it and I love the sound in the mornings and late nights.

Hearing the horns from distance away is like listening a soft music. I will enjoy it too, but not if the train blow the horns only a meters away from your ear

The same thing happened when I lived in a house near the toll road. Often startled by the sound of exploding tires.

There are train tracks in this area, but none nearby. I was surprised one night when I heard a train even with the windows closed. That is usually a summertime or warm weather event when I have the windows open at night

Yes, I can relate. My place is far enough from the railway station. I can only hear the train when midnight or early morning.

If I have no choice I suppose I would but I will get mad with that noise Having said that I must admit one gets used to noise after a while and in fact it could serve as a lullaby (lol)

I would say, it would be stressful at first to live near a train track, but eventually, people will get used to the sound and would ignore it altogether. But who am i to say so, when I've never lived in one before.

You get used to the noise and after a while, you don't notice it anymore. I lived right beside a railroad track a few years ago. At first, I noticed the noise all the time. Then it became common and I never noticed it again.
