Yes, people really can be THAT stupid.

If you know me, you know I hate going to the doctor. However, I require prescription medicine to manage my chronic pain. So, I reluctantly go twice a year. I was there last month, and I always wind up leaving there, feeling like the "doctor" I see, just got out of medical school and like to spout facts at me like they are talking from a text book. And, then there was today.... oh, today.... A bit after five pm, I get a phone call. My phone announced it as being One Family (the doctor's office I go to). They claimed to need to update my records. Knowing I was going to have a conversation with someone who lived on stupid pills, I braced myself for the worst. Sure enough, they did not disappoint. Nurse: Do you have any chronic illnesses? Me: yes. Nurse: Do you need to make an appointment to be seen? Me: No. Nurse: Do you have any chronic illnesses? Me:.... yes, they don't magically disappear. No. I am not physically feeling ill at the moment, therefore I don't need to be seen. Nurse: okay, that's what I was asking.... Me:.... Yep. What doctor's office calls patients when they're supposed to be closed? Or, asks questions like that? I have no words.

Yeah. If intelligence could be drained from a person, I feel like mine is everyone I talk to them.

Makes me wonde if their business is failing, and they aren't seeing patients.

@rakski Not as long as they continue to take Medicare/medicade and its affiliates. Very few offices around here, do. So patients don't really have many choices unless they can afford another provider.

@kaylachan if that is how they ask the patients, they might lose them in the long run

That can be not only frustrating and also annoying, Bad enough that you need help to manage your chronic pain but then something like this. I would think the nurse would know better,

What was the point of that? I thought our health centre was bad, you just can't get hold of anybody there.

Almost like, when the situation is sad and the journalist asking 'what do you feel now?' Sometimes the questions pose..... I can't brain them

@Adie04 Because apparently making phone calls doesn't require brain cells?

@kaylachan I know right! Almost like you want to hit them I wonder how do they get that position when they pose such an idiot question? Oh my, I'm angry

The most they typically do is send a recorded reminder two days before my scheduled appointment, and that comes from a different number.
