Do you know what this is?

A year and a half ago, my friend’s mom fractured her wrist while harvesting bamboo shoots. They thought it was nothing serious but when they went to the hospital, the doctor said she needed surgery. Fast forward to now, last week the bolts in her wrist were removed. She sent me a picture and I can’t believe those were once inside a human being’s body for such a long time. Look so painful Have you ever seen something like that in the photo above?

I know plates and bolts are put inside when there are fractures. But this is the first time I saw one.

I've heard of horses needing to have a leg bone screwed together so the horse could use it again. The veterinarian used something similar to hold the bone in place. I hope your friend's mom is fine now.

Yikes, poor horse but it's for their own good right? She said there are still things that her mom couldn't do for now but in time, she'll be hundred percent okay. How's your day going?

@sol_cee Yes, for the horse's own good. If the bone had been broken too badly, the veterinarian would have advised the owner to put the horse to put the horse down... I recently switched phone companies but everything was working fine with the new Sim card the first day but then I couldn't send text messages so Pretty called the company to troubleshoot the phone. Each time she's called to have the phone repaired something else stops working. Now I can't make or receive phone calls or send texts. She's on the phone with the phone company again. My phone is our main phone and all my doctors have that number. We really need my phone to work.

Yeah. These are pretty common. Medical technology can be an amazing thing. Many people have to carry medical cards so they can be allowed to pass through metal detectors because they have metal pieces in their bodies.

I was wondering the same thing. So they have metal cards. Can’t anyone take advantage of that?

@sol_cee No. Not really. I am not sure how medical cards like this work, but there is a way to verify them. I believe they are on a data base as well.

I haven't seen them in real life but I have seen in movies people who have been fractured, the bolts or nails being used to hold the pieces together

@sol_cee Is this a nice thing to keep and a nice event to remember? My brother was the surgeon who removed them and he threw, he knew I do not like those kind of "memories". The scar was bad enough to remember what happened.
