What's the worst thing that happened to you on a flight?

So my friend had to come back to Davao from Manila because of a family event. She had with her her six months old baby, her two year old son and her husband when they boarded the plane. She said everyone was looking at the baby with a gasp of horror or something like that. Lol, nothing wrong with the baby, but as a passenger before, I know what everyone was thinking. Baby on board equals crying baby on the air for the rest of the flight. I used to 'pray' not to have a crying baby on board, especially for long haul flights. But it is what it is. Then I saw this meme (photo above). Have you experienced it before?

I only had a few flights but never encountered babies. I guess I can call myself lucky. It would be so uncomfortable for the parents if their kids are viewed as "howlers". Not all babies cry on flights. My own grandchild usually sleeps the whole time while traveling/

Of course, babies are angels. And not all babies cry on flights, true. It's just that if one gets unlucky, worse things seem to happen at once

I had never had anything bad happen on a flight. The only one thing I might guess at, is that I caught a terrible flu and was sick then for the rest of the vacation. Flying was so very different years ago. Everyone behaved.

A two year old baby cried on my right during 10 hours flight from France to Atlanta (Georgia - USA). Even the flight attendant cried, she was tired and wanted to rest, no way, that baby was HORRIBLE!

@sol_cee -Horrible mother and horrible kid. When we went through the Customs they asked us "how was the flight" I replied "the most horrible of my life".

No, I've never been on a plane with a crying baby or screaming toddler but I have been forced to stay in a house with both before and I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy. Parents with small children should be blocked from taking infants/small children on flights unless they're willing to pay all the other passengers for pain and suffering if the baby starts crying or the toddler starts screaming during the flight.

@sol_cee No, I wasn't the babysitter but I was trying to help. I could get one of them to stop making noise but when I went to the other child, the first would start screaming again. Their babysitter pissed me off by going outside, saying they couldn't cope with crying/screaming infants. *sigh* I finally managed to quiet both kids but I demanded the money when the babysitter got paid.

Were you their nanny? Lol, and I dunno but I really can't stand the sound of crying babies, no matter how I cover my ears. It happened in a flight before and the cabin crews looked so helpless too

I don't mind crying babies or toddlers. My most horrific airplane trips have involved sitting next to people who smelled really bad.

@sol_cee I could be a meanie and describe it in detail, but I will not. Let me light my vanilla candle (it's very mild) and then let's think about ambrosia and nectar.

There were a lot of young children on our last flight but we never heard a peep out of any of them. I have to admit I was expecting the worst.

Yes babies on board an airplane can be a bit of annoying since they do not understand what is happening on them. I think that it is common among babies.

@sol_cee Certainly, the flight is longer than 12 hours, and babies cry for virtually the entire time. What can you do? Although it is quite annoying. The infant would occasionally stop sobbing, but would soon resume when he or she awakened.

Fortunately, I have never been on a flight with a baby that cried for more than a few minutes. I get migraines often so while I would be polite and quiet about it, I would dread a crying baby. I'm sure the parents are praying their child will simply sleep most of the way through!

Yeah, how dreadful it would be to parents who actually care about other people on the plane. I would hurry the pilot loll

I know that it is not easy to have baby or young kids when you travel even if I don`t have kids on my own. If ever I will have kids, I will not travel by plane with my kids especially if the reason is just for a vacation because I don`t like to disturb others. I will travel by car and go to places nearby until my kids are in their right age to understand what is right and wrong

@sol_cee Yes but we really have to understand them because maybe they have their reason why they do that

Those toilets in there are a disaster I could not open the door while in and had to make a noise for someone to open it for me (lol)

Every. Single. Flight. Just once, I would love to fly somewhere on a plane with no babies and no screaming kids. Just once. And then I could die happy.

@sol_cee hahaha, let say that the moment I thought I could get a full night sleep, we suddenly stopped travelling as a family! (During those four years, we went and returned at least twice a month. Don't know why I still put on weight like crazy that period!)
