This won't be your usual upbeat post from me. I had a different weekend. Saturday was good. I got a lot done, including the notifications. However, I didn't work on Where Eagles Soar. I will today, so you won't see me as much as you usually do. Yesterday was difficult. I told my friend down the hall that death doesn't affect me as it does most people, including my sister who cries buckets when someone dies. Yesterday, my cousin passed. No, I didn't cry, but I couldn't handle it. I went to talk to my friend. I was in shock at her sudden death. I don't know the details. I'm still in shock over her death. She and I were the same age. I'm waiting for a call from my sister to find out what happened. If anybody knows, she will. It was my brother who texted me yesterday and I called him back. It will be a while before my brain sorts this out and I can handle it. I'm down four cousins now. Of all of us, we're down five. To make matters worse, her 90+ mother is still alive. She will be burying her daughter. No parent should bury their children. It's just not fair! So, there will be another family reunion in the near future. It's not the kind of family reunion we like to go to. That wasn't the only thing to go wrong yesterday. When I got to church yesterday a friend asked me what happened to my car. I had no clue until I went out to look at the passenger door and found someone had egged it again. That's twice now. The first time was last fall during Homecoming. With this being the second time, it's not a coincidence. Now, today. My son called me just a few minutes ago and asked me to go out and look at my car. I didn't need any more bad news. He told me to look at the license plate when I looked over the car. My license plate was starting to shred. It's more so now. It didn't look like it does now when I was at the store on Saturday. He told me his registration sticker is gone. No coincidence. We were targeted. We both believe we know who did it. As for my plans for today, I'm finally getting my hair cut today. My hairdresser was on vacation so it really needs it. It's in my eyes. I also have an exercise class in an hour. On top of everything going on in my life, there is a good friend in the building that was just diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and going downhill rapidly. I've been praying almost non-stop for him and his wife. I'm on overload. So much going on and I can't handle it. I have a feeling I won't be going to the last market on Saturday. I have a box of books coming on Thursday to take to the market. I'll ask my friend if she can take them and try to sell them. Usually, when the author isn't there, their books don't sell. There's also a ballet I wanted to go to on Saturday. That won't happen either. All my plans are shot to the wind. This one thing I know: Life is not guaranteed. We don't know from one moment to the next what will happen. Only God knows that. I can only trust Him to make sense of everything going on in my life. How is your day going?
