I just saw online there was a 7.1 earthquake in California. It was in SCal about 240 miles from LA. That is a big one. The East coast quake that happened in this county, but was felt as far away as Canada, was only 6.4. Apparently, Calif had a 6.4 quake a few weeks ago, which I heard nothing about. It didn't seem to be in the news. I have some relatives in SCal.. I hope everything is OK with them. Have you been in an earthquake? They can be scary. To me, the aftershocks were worse than the original quake.

That´s a big earthquake, depending on how houses are built. I live in a country with many earthquakes. We build houses that can stand big quakes.

I experienced that when I was still living in my country Philippines and good thing is it is not too much but you can really feel the strong movement that makes you feel dizzy and scared like your house will collapse

Yes, I know one time we were in bed when we got a strong aftershock and it makes you feel helpless.

@snowy22315 I found in the news about a 3.8 quake, not 7.1.

I didn't hear anything about that earthquake hitting California. Earthquakes and tornadoes scare me the most

@snowy22315 We've had a few but mostly they're never really bad. There was a biggy in WA in 1968. Mostly they seem to occur in sparsely populated areas.
