Cow running in the streets of Niles Illinois

Cow running loose in Niles Illinois

I wonder what goes through the mind of the students and faculty at Northridge Preparatory School which is located in Niles Illinois when they used a live cow to be used in a prank on Wednesday evening last week that went bad. The cow managed to run away from the school and enter a neighborhood which caused the residents to call for help from the Niles Police Department who had help from a representative from Wagner Farms. The call for help came around 3am on Thursday morning. The police officers and the Wagner Farms representative spent around seven hours until the cow was captured by the Wagner Farms representative. The cow was then taken by the representative to Wagner Farms facility. The cow will be then taken to the Hooved Animals Humane Society in Woodstock. The students confessed that they purchased the cow from Winneconne Wisconsin via Craiglist. Hopefully the students will learn their lesson not to bite off more than they chew. I wonder if the sellers of the cow (on Craigslist, I think I read) ever paused to consider if it was a good idea to sell to teenagers. Personally, I wouldn’t have sold to them unless adults were there to give me some reassurance. Because I don’t want to be blamed if something goes wrong with that cow.

@Deepizzaguy Sure, but did it not occur to them to make sure the cow would be handled responsibly?

@AmbiePam I guess the seller did not know how the cow was going to be handled when the sale was made.

I guess the seller who sold the cow to the teenagers did not know that the cow was going to be used to pull a prank on persons in the town.

They should be arrested for animal abuse. Craigslist can be a dangerous place.

@CarolDM I am in agreement with you since someone could have been hurt with the cow running on the streets.

The report did not mention what punishment the students received for the prank at their school.

@rakski I am in agreement with you since a joke is funny until you are the victim which is a saying on the He-Man cartoons which I watch on You Tube cartoons

I guess the students just want to have fun using farm animals for their amusement.

@Deepizzaguy That is so, so true. I hate seeing people being made fools of. I don't like it at all.

That was not a wise thing to do. The cow could have been injured. I'm glad the Humane Society will be taking care of the cow.

Seven hours is a long time for the police to be out trying to catch the cow.

Glad they got a hold of that poor cow. Now how did it work out that both you and me wrote about cows today?

I am sure the students have friends who have deep pockets that they borrowed from their relatives to use Craiglist in order to buy the farm animals.
