Just a neighbourhood thing

April and May months are still the growing season for many small vegetable growers here. Neighbours growing vegetables always asked for seeds, seedlings and sometimes they exchanged the seeds among the growers. Today one of our neighbours came to our house and insisted on my mother to take brinjal (egg plant) seedlings which she bought from other growers but my mother refused to take them as we had already planted one month ago. I find it quite funny how she was insisting my mother to take it, so at the end my mother had to take 2-3 seedlings. Now I don’t know where she would plant the seedlings. My father will be very happy to plant among the flowers because he preferred planting more vegetables over the flowers . I cannot forget those days when my father complained about the growing of flowers instead of vegetables in front of the house. I can't with them. Image: mine, long beans plant

Your father is practical. I would prefer to grow my own veggies too. They could cut your food expenditure significantly if you have a vegetable garden in your front yard or backyard.

My father liked to grow vegetables too. There was a place for flowers, but you can't eat flowers. I'm glad your mother took the seedlings.

Very nice to share seeds with neighbors. We do the same here. Good luck with yours.

I like that your neighbors are growing vegetables and sharing starts with each other. I wish my neighbors were like that. I hope you have a good harvest.
