Leticia, my former maid and now friend, just called me. She told me that she was coming to visit me on Sunday. She will spend the whole day with me. She will bring warm bread just out of the bakery. And I´ll thaw a whole chicken to roast. I bought some time ago a big piece of salmon to have for her but it took her so long to visit that I treated someone else. And last month I was going to replace it but it was so expensive that I decided against it. I already told her that she could have any part of the chicken but the tailbone which was mine

We´ll have fun together. And I will go through the closets with her to see if she wants to have something for herself. See you later. I´m off for a night shower.

When Claudia comes for a visit and I have roasted chicken, I have to eat the tailbone before she arrives.

She told me that she would arrive very early as her son will come to bring her. But she has a key to my house so I can just get up slowly.

I love it when you share things like this. Someday or soon, I want to look forward to days when our former maids and housekeepers would visit me too and just spend the day with me talking and eating. I actually had that experience last year when one of our former maids came home from the Middle East after working there as a domestic helper. She came to visit as a friend and I was very happy to see her.

Leticia came to work for us over 25 years ago. Although it was not her duty, she took care of my husband when he was dying and then went to care for my grandson when he had cancer. Then years later, she took care of me when I was in chemo. But betwen that we went together for a week to Buenos Aires and I invited her, all expenses paid, to Aruba for 3 weeks. I wouldn´t have had as much fun without her.

I haven´t seen her for months. She not only raises a couple of her grandkids but also takes care of one of her brothers who is very ill.

We practically lived together for almost 2 decades. And then she got ill and later on the covid started so we mostly talked to each other by phone.
