For the life of it is only now that I learned that when the eczema is infected it means it is infected by bacteria, virus or fungi. That is why I was prescribed and antibiotic, an anti fungal and I don't why not acyclovir for virus. Our skin is the great barrier, protection of the body. Those who have properly working ones be very grateful. I will try to work on getting my immune system healthy. The only methods I know so far is eating fruit everyday or most days at least and drinking turmeric tea. I will research more on how to achieve this. My immune system is my ally and I have to take care of it. I also try some relaxing activities like listening to music, self massage and having a pleasant outlook. Not let stress overwhelm me. Take care fellow myLotters!

Good luck with that. I am not to discourage you since my grand aunt had it all her life. But that was way before any good medication is available unlike nowadays where they can identify which medicines you need to take to make it heal faster. I think it starts like an allergic reaction to something then bacterial or viral infection follows when you don't take care of it.

@yoalldudes Sorry that you feel that way. I guess the medicines today are way more effective than before. I know the ointment that my grand aunt had was just to relieve her from the itchiness so she won't scratch it and wound it.

Drinking water helps our skin too since our bodies are made up of so much water.

Eczema is a skin condition usually not affected by bacterial and such but yes you can get skin bacterial infection none of that I've heard of that is because of Eczema. Many people that have eczema also have good allergies which will cause a flare up of there eczema change of weather form like hot to cold. Everyone Eczema is different. My youngest has Eczema since he was a baby and only gets flare ups now that we know his mostly caused by his food allergies. He does still need to have like oatmeal baths or certain lotion to help with bumpy skin and ashiness.
