We're going to a quiz night

The photo has nothing to do with the discussion. We’re going to a quiz night at the clubrooms on Saturday. Our lifestyle village has a social committee who are responsible for organising entertainment from time to time. Bus trips to various locations are popular and we’ve been on a couple of those. We’ll be organised into tables of eight. We had a group of six and we’ll be allocated two more people on the night. I hope our fellow table mates know more than we do. We’re not very knowledgeable about movies, popular music or sport but we’ll be sure to take something nice to nibble on so perhaps our lack of knowledge won’t be so noticeable. It sounds like trivia games here. I have done them but haven't gone in a long time. I was thinking of joining a club once I am more settled.

Trivia sounds similar. Here, church groups and sporting clubs sometimes have them too.

I have never been to one and I don't think we have one here. Those only happen in schools here.

I never had a quiz night, but this sounds interesting. We had a "murder mystery dinner", where we were organized in tables of eight to discover "who done it".

No quiz nights here but love quizzes and puzzles. At the moment I am introduced to Quordle a version of Wordle where there are 4 words and 9 chances.

I've never been to a quiz night anywhere and am sure I wouldn't be able to answer questions about music, sports or movies. I do know quite a bit about science... but that's probably not needed at something like that. Hopefully, you guys will enjoy yourselves.

It depends who sets the questions but sport is usually quite a bit component. It will be interesting to see what questions they put up for pensioners/oldies. lol

It's years since I went to any kind of quiz. I'm not much use as I never watch TV so I know nothing about any so-called 'famous' people, and I'm not interested in sports either. I can only answer the odd question on some esoteric subject no-one else knows!
