I just got a message from my electric company that they are cutting everyone's electric bill from now on starting in August. It will be an average of 5.81 per customer!! Woohoo! That will be awesome, because in this hot weather I have been using alot of it. They said it was based on a lower cost of power from Old Dominion Electric that is their supplier. So, totally unexpected and cool!!! Have you seen any price decreases lately in anything you pay for regularly?

Thanks, 5.81 per month isn't much but it adds up to more than 60 bucks a year!

That’s wonderful; what a blessing! No, unfortunately, we got a notice our electricity bills would be going up, the third year in a row.

@snowy22315 I'm glad for you! Do you get low income energy assistance? Where like a month of your electric bill paid for in the summer and winter? That comes in handy too.

@AmbiePam No, I haven't ever applied for it. I like to do things on my own.

I have good news too. From July those who consume less than 200 units will not be charged at all

No, what I did notice was that the paper plates I used to pay $15.99 from Costco were now over $21 and my Chewy bill for the dogs food has gone up 30%. But I am glad your electricity is going down.

@snowy22315 Yes I can imagine. I have a contract with Constellation Energy for a set price for three years so I think mine is fair.

Because inflation is pushing prices up so much, our government gave a once-only grant to help with electricity bills. It's always welcome.

I have used much more than I usually do this month due to the heat. Even with the savings, I am pretty sure the August bill is going to be high.

LUcky you, where do you live? It hasn't been as hot here as most places...but the humidity is a big problem.
