Do your cats lick you?

This can be a funny question. I have a young cat. She was saved by my mom. No one wanted her. We still have her. She is addicted to me. She wants to be with me all the time. She licks me often. I have to find a new owner for her, but she is wild when strangers come. I feel annoyed when she licks me, but I can't avoid it. She is so obsessed with me and she licks me often. Do you have such a cat?

The bite is a "Love" bite, it's not done in anger. I guarantee if it's done in anger you're going to really feel it and more than likely you'll lose some blood. My ginger tabby (Petey) was having a bit of an argument with Freya (the Siamese) and I went to pick him up and he bit my arch of my right foot! Boy did it hurt and it really bled from the bite. He apologized by "kissing" my foot and hand and then cleaning the area he bit.

No. But my cat does lick my mother. And one of my uncle's cats does try to groom me like he does with my mother, but I don't like it.

@dya80dya My cat is not allowed to sleep in bed with me either. Burt just gets mad at me if I try to sleep with him in bed during daytime hours.

I'm going to have to answer quickly, there are two reasons your cat is licking you. One is like Amber said, it is grooming you and leaving its scent on you so other critters know that you are spoken for. I have that with my cats, they "groom me when I am going out so any other critter knows I have two cats that own me.
The second reason that your cat is licking you is that she is showing her love for you. It's like my Siamese. She is rather shy, she has had at least 4f homes before I adopted her, and she is terrified that I might get rid of her. So, I get kitty kisses through the day to show me that she loves me and is happy with her home and hopes with all of her kitty heart that I will keep her. She follows me through the apartment and will snooze as close to me as possible. If I lay down to take a nap I feel her get up on the bed and snuggle close to me and guard me while I nap.
Why do you need to find a new home for her? I am able to have Petey and Freya because they are therapy cats and landlords cannot refuse people with therapy animals. Of course, I provide them with everything they need and tonight I order them a fancy scratching post to clean their claws on. Feel privileged that you aren't being licked by a Great Dane. You are as wet as you are after taking a shower!

@dya80dya Therapy cats are trained cats that are very sensitive to their human's emotional needs. Some are even able to bring small items to their humans when asked to do so, and will also summon help if help is needed. My ginger tabby is my constant companion and has been since I lost my husband 3 years ago. He snuggles with me when he knows I am depressed and will stay with me until he is sure I am feeling better. He follows me through the apartment and "helps" with the daily chores by supervising and talking to me. He also has my neighbor and me laughing when he lets loose with one of his super smelly lethal farts. He did one Sunday night and my neighbor apologized but it was so awful (even with the windows open) that she had to leave.
My Siamese is still a bit young, but she is learning quickly. She keeps my spirits up and keeps me laughing. She has learned in the 4 short months that I have had her how to retrieve and bring the item to me on command, also she will pick up light weight things that I want in the trash and put them there. She's just 14 months old so she is doing great.
They both are wonderful company, and I have a perch by the window where they can visit with the neighbors as they go by. Also, they can alert the neighbors to any problems that I might be having. I wouldn't give them up for anything. I even got a special certification from my doctor so that they can be in the apartment. I wish I lived closer to you so I could adopt your baby...check around as there are a LOT of humane societies that are "no kill" shelters that will take care of all her needs and find her a great home.

Yes, I do. Chilly isn't that bad, but my late cat, Precious used to lick me all the time. Especially when he knew I was having a bad day.
