Time Wasted, but Not

I went on the hunt for golf balls today. We don't play golf, but Hubby has sciatica/back issues . . . I had read about rolling golf balls under the toe/foot for reflexology which might help him. I could not find single golf balls anywhere . I drove EVERYWHERE. Either the stores didn't have them, or they sold boxes of way too many for too much money. I only needed ONE. Finally I found a pro golf shop . . . well, I knew about that shop but figured it'd be too expensive. Turns out they had a huge basket of single golf balls for 99 cents (and up) each . I bought 2. What a deal. Except that I probably wasted a lot of gas and time by then . . . BUT I got 'em . Have you gone on a hunt lately for something you wanted so badly? Did you get it or are you still looking?

Oh geez I have done that many times . A lot of times I've gone to the store to specifically buy something . . . and then I buy other stuff EXCEPT FOR what I went to the store for in the first place .

I'm glad you found a couple of golf balls cheap and hope they help your hubby. If I don't find something I'm looking for, Pretty usually just orders it online.

When I think to want something, I want it NOW. I still haven't jumped on the bandwagon to shop online, can you believe it? Pretty must be really good with finding stuff online!

@much2say She just types what she wants into the search engine and there it is. As long as we get what we need, we don't mind waiting for it. I love the grapefruit body wash. Management apparently deleted it from their stock at the Walmart two miles from our house so Pretty ordered several bottles of it online. We got three days later.

@DaddyEvil I just figure I can go find it "somewhere" . . . I'm quite impatient . I'm glad you could stock up on your favorite body wash . . . at least you could still get it online. Say, is it that Equate pink grapefruit one . . . I remember looking at that some time ago.

I really hope that helps him. How cool if something that simple could be of such good use? My niece, Amyra, wanted a hula hoop for her birthday a few years ago. I thought okay, Walmart or Target will have one, so I waited until the last minute. Nope, they must have been out. I live in a large city so you wouldn’t think it would be so hard to find! We finally found one at a Dollar General store. It was a time like that we could have used a Toys R Us store.

He tried it and felt "something" . . . but let's see if it actually helps him in coming days!! You'd think hula hoops would be everywhere - I'd expect to see them at certain stores too. In most cases, living where we do, we are able to find most things (shows you how easily we can take for granted that so much is available to us at any given time). Glad you were able to find one for Amyra!

My neighbor friends and I used to pick up golf balls free in a certain area. I love to do deep dives and find stuff online.

I was trying to think where I could just "find" golf balls . . . maybe near a course or a country club?? I know I've seen golf balls when I never needed them . That's one of the neat things about being online . . . you can find TONS of stuff!!

Soda ne. The cashier at the golf store asked me if I was part of their rewards program and I said no . . . you can't have my info because I will probably never, ever go in this store again ever in my life again . What are the chances I would ever need golf balls again???

It was great you finally found it and was a real bargain ! Rolling golf ball under the foot must work.According to the Hologram theory of Chinses medicine,a foot has lots of acupuncture points which are related to the entire body.

Ohhh, thank you for that link! I have seen those charts . . . I wish I could learn all the techniques for acupressure / acupuncture. There are videos too that help to find these points and show techniques, but it's not always easy to know if we are doing them correctly.

@changjiangzhibin89 I truly believe in it. I had acupuncture for my skating injuries - it did work for me. I can't do the needles of acupuncture, but I can try to use acupressure. I'm still trying to work the one for headaches.

Are you kidding me? Wow you had to go to the specialty shop to get a golf ball..well thank goodness they had them..see, I wonder if that is to do with supply chain issues. Aw poor Hubby..I can totally have compassion about it, my hips are paining me right now and why I am up at 3AM. Yes reflexology is supposed to help..I practiced that when I was working..learned it in cosmo school Much. It works. Supposed to anyway..helps a bit.

I could have sworn I saw cheap golf balls at places like 99, or any of those dollar stores but nope. Walmart and Target had boxes . . . I didn't need to be stuck with over a dozen golf ball$! Oh gosh I'm sorry your hips were keeping you up at night - yes, this chronic pain thing is so hard. Hubby tried the golf ball roll . . . lots of pains stemming from under the foot . . . I have a feeling he must have a lot of areas to knead out .

@RebeccasFarm Ohhh, I believe it. Hubby can't stand our couch - he won't sit on it. How did your yellow chair ever work out? Hubby did PT for a while . . . they said it's from sitting in the same position for all these years. But I think too it's the way he stands. We changed out the mattress . . . it somewhat helped but still needed that knee pillow. He did yoga and that really helped . . . but then he got a hernia .

@much2say I found one of the culprits for my hip pain..it is this patio chair I sit in..I cannot afford a recliner..anyway..I put a memory foam pillow to sit on and that is helping. I really have compassion for your husband so painful. Yes a really awesome massage would help him..wonder if it is the chair he sits in or even the mattress? Or strain at work?

He actually found it to be a bit painful . . . which mean he had a lot of tenderness at the bottom of his foot! I guess you're supposed to find the painful points and press on them with your body weight for like a minute. Thus far he hasn't done it routinely, so hard to say if it's helped or not. Yoga was actually helping him for a while, but then he got injured and had to stop. Sigh.
