I finally got some plain apple cider

These days in alot of stores they want to sell you cider that has all kinds of additives in it, spices, possibly extra sugar and artificial flavor. All I want is the good stuff like you get from cider mills. I finally found some that has nothing but apples. I think Aldi has plain cider as well, but I haven't been there lately. Do you prefer plain cider, or the other stuff in stores that passes for cider? I don't like any of it. It has a fake taste to me.

I don't know if there's a difference between juice and cider, but I lean more towards juice.

Yes, real cider is not cooked. It may not even be pasteurized but some is.

@kaylachan I suppose so. I like the straight stuff. Apple juice may be more filtered as well. Real cider isn't filtered.

@snowy22315 Wouldn't pasteurization cook it?

I would like to make my own cider if I could afford to do it. I don't like how a lot of the apple cider tastes.

I know somebody who bought their own apple press and does it. They sell them on Amazon. It takes about a bushel of apples to make a gallon of cider I think he said. That sounds like a lot but it probably does take a lot.

@Scrapper88 First you have to get a press. Maybe you could find one used on ebay...You do need alot of apples too. Actually, I just looked it up it says a peck of apples 35-40 for a gallon of cider.

@snowy22315 I have a friend who made his own apple cider. He taught me a few things about how to do it.

I bet it does. Apple vinegar is supposed to be very beneficial for you, and cider is similar..without the tang.

I haven’t had apple cider in ages, but I like the real version when I do have it; nothing added to supposedly make it taste better.

Yep, just give me the straight stuff. I don't need all those additives in it. Its really healthy as long as you don't drink a huge amount of it. It has a lot of sugar in it.
