Shrimp Curry

We were going to have shrimp curry the other night. I couldn't eat it. It reminded me of my first marriage. Getting out on my own for the first time. I was trying to be a good wife. I had gotten a set of iron skillets as a wedding present. I was told how to 'cure' them and I did all of that. I had been taught how to cook and wasn't that bad. I was trying to get up each morning and get my construction husband a good breakfast. Those pans were hellish to cook on. I didn't do too well. I decided to cook a really good supper one night. I knew he liked shrimp so I found a recipe in my cookbook for shrimp curry. I got the ingredients, made the curry, and tasted it. Good. I was so proud of myself. My husband comes home. I serve the dish and wait. What was his comment? "I don't like curry." I can't eat curry to this day. It makes me angry.

@celticeagle Oh I could tell you some stories too that would make your hair stand on end what the pig did to me with food.

Oh man, I understand. All that effort. I personally like iron cookware, but I grew up with it.

I don't mind it. I was just young and inexperienced.

I'll bet it was good! But oh the disappointment of his words after all that work. I had some iron skillets that I didn't do well with - so I donated them. But I wish I had them now.

I am sorry his response was negative. I just learned to make curry about a year or so ago and we enjoy it. It took me a little bit to learn how to cook with cast iron. Now they are my go to pans.

I'm not into Thai food. It took me awhile to learn how to cook with castiron skillets too.

Nor am I. I like milder flavors. But, I do enjoy Chinese mustard.

I can very well understand your anger and if it makes you feel that way then just keep away from curry. I have a different problem. My late husband and I always enjoyed having coffee not just in the mornings but in different ways like with whipped cream and also vanilla ice cream. Then he passed away and to this day I can't get coffee down my throat, I sure tried figuring I was just being silly and when I first came to Florida I bought a simple instant coffee jar. I tried it about twice and finally, that coffee grew moldy and I threw it out, Thanks for suggesting @Gilljane
