I wonder what I can reach, says the pony

It seems we may now be able to post photos again. How good is that? I for one am over the moon to see photos on discussions again. We’ve just returned from taking photos at another horse endurance ride. When people attend the rides here, most camp overnight as the rides can start very early and the horses have to pass their vet tests on the previous afternoon. Some of the horse floats/trailers have living accommodation in the front part; others might sleep in tents. The horses stay in makeshift yards. I snapped this photo of a naughty little pony investigating the back of the car. He carried his owner 20 kms (12.4 miles).

That is just an adorable shot. Like catching the dieter with their hand in the cookie jar.

Ponies can be so naughty - and very clever too. One escaped at our last house-sit - not once but twice and we had to move her and her friend to a more secure area. lol

He says, I wonder if there are any apples in there?

Maybe he could smell apples. The young lad who rode him was obviously very attached to him.

Must have been apples or something that enticed the pony.

@RubyHawk They do. Well, most do and they also love carrots. At the checkpoints there is always carrots and hay for the horses as well as water.

I think we've all missed being able to load photos. Some discussions really need a photo to enhance the text.

It's hard to be annoyed with them for long. This one wasn't able to reach anything of importance luckily.

Two other small ponies did 12 kms with their young riders but their adult handlers walked/ran the whole distance.

He was indeed a Welsh mountain. There were four on the ride. Here is another couple. The bay is one we looked after at our last house-sit. The kids are twin boys but are aways mistaken for girls with their long hair. The parents walked/ran with them for the 12 kms and we had a VERY unexpected hot day with temperatures reaching 32C. They are more dedicated than I would ever be.
