The Beach at Fort Fisher, October 13, 2023 / myLot

K arrived Thursday evening. Friday morning we took a long walk along the beach in the photo and had lunch at Buzz's Roost on the Carolina Beach Boardwalk. We spent the rest of the day in camp outside under the awning reading and napping (I napped, K read.) For dinner, K cooked BBQed ribs on the campfire. They were delectable. Dessert was ice cream eaten while watching the campfire burn down. All in all, a wonderful day. Today, we did get a walk around the campground with the dogs in a light rain after breakfast. It is raining harder now. Later, we will venture out for lunch. How is your weekend going so far?

The ribs sound good. I saw some in our supermarket yesterday and thought they'd be nice to have for a change.

K buys the pre-cooked, packed in sauce ribs that just need heating on the grill. Those save a lot of time.

We like it because it's a state park and not cluttered with houses and condo complexes like a lot of beaches these days.

My favorite thing about that beach is that it is undeveloped. No houses along the shore because it is a state park.

Not a bad weekend. it rained and I got stuff done around the house and made cookies.Today more of the same...including laundry...out for breakfast etc.

@DWDavis I helped my youngest daughter move to Cullowhee so I was driving to the western part of the state 3 weekends in a row...and then we went camping on the fourth weekend.
