Would you pay to use Twitter?

or I should say X now that Elon has changed the name of the platform. Last year he started charging $8/month to verify accounts (disaster) and now he is charging new members in New Zealand and the Philippines $1/year in order to tweet and retweet posts. He claims that it is how he is going to prevent bots on the site but that explanation makes no sense since most of the bots on Twitter/X are from Russia.
I won't pay to have my account verified and I wouldn't pay even $1/year to create a new account. If he tries to get established users to pay I will be outta there. There are other platforms that have been created and aren't filled with the racist hate speech that has permeated Twitter since Elmo took over.

I don't use it at all. I did give it a go a few years back and found it somewhat lacking. I'm more of an old school web-user. I like actual articles and information.

I reported on this and wondered why he is starting in New Zealand and the Philippines. Maybe just a test market? I haven't used Twitter since I had my blog; and I doubt that I will be using it in the future. I wouldn't pay the $1. Have a good day.
