Today was a wonderful day in so, so many ways. I spent a lot of my time at the VA hospital and accomplished quite a bit. First, I mentioned earlier that my dentist is an Israeli, so I went to the dental clinic to check on him. The receptionist told me his family lives in the north of Israel and isn’t in the path of the current danger. I was so thankful and relieved to hear that!!! Last month we had the annual women vets’ open house. Some of the swag they gave out included some lip balm from the Live Whole Health department, and it truthfully is some of the best I’ve ever used. I went by their office to see if they had more, and sure enough, they did! I got a handful!!! An unexpected blessing came at audiology. I went there to have my hearing aids recalibrated. I told the technician (a very sweet graduate student doing her internship) that arthritis has made the fine-motor skills of reloading those tiny batteries in the tiny hearing aids a chore. (My sis-in-law has the same problem.) She said no problem, since my hearing aids are older than five years they’ll give me a new hearing test and new, up-to-date (as in, rechargeable) hearing aids!! Physical therapy was great, too. My back has really improved, even though I was doing a couple of the exercises incorrectly. I spent an hour there going over “neutral pelvis,” which is a royal pain when you first start. The only downer was I heard from a friend that a package I shipped last Friday via priority mail (as in, TWO-DAY delivery) hasn’t arrived, and won’t until tomorrow. The post office doesn’t care. I found that out last year when I had a credit card stolen (most likely by the seasonal temp employee who was supposed to be delivering it ). Oh, well, as long as she gets it before winter sets in (it’s a hoodie). I hope y’all have had a great day as well!
