Today's visit from my little nephews.

My little nephews trying to guess what their presents are!

My brother, my sister-in-law and my little nephews came round today to fetch my little nephews birthday presents. There wasn't many places for them to sit, so my Mum had to get some dining room chairs out of the dining room. My Mum then went and fetched their bags of presents, and Ali said, Oh, boys, wow! Look at that! What do you say? And the boys in unison said, thank you very much. My Mum said that I'd gone out and got them all so if they didn't like them to blame me! My step-dad told them about the roof man that'd been round earlier. So David asked if he could see it. So my step-dad took him out to see the roof. I said that I'd been angry because they'd been in my bedroom without permission, so David asked if he could look at my ceiling, and I said, go on then, but don't knock anything over! When David came out he said he couldn't see any damp, and I said, Told you so! He asked what was meant to be wrong with the roof and my step-dad said that there were some new tiles and some old tiles and apparently the old tiles weren't level with the new tiles and might be letting water in. But David said he couldn't see anything wrong with the roof, so he told my step-dad not to go ahead with whatever the roof man proposed, because he thinks he's just touting for business. And that would have cost £650 so my step-dad will be glad to save that much money. Earlier he'd been moaning because he said he couldn't be forking out money all the time. But he used to be an accountant and he's a miser so that's not surprising! Then we started talking about the plumber coming on Monday, and David asked why that was. So we explained all the story of the broken washing machine and trying to get a plumber to come out and connect the new one, and I told my Mum to show Ali my trousers with the plastic fused to it! Ali said we could have gone round to theirs to do our laundry. David said if the plumber doesn't come on Monday, to phone him and he'll get someone that he knows and trusts to come and do it. Then my brother, sister-in-law and my nephews left and the boys said thank you for their presents again. After that we got some tea (dinner) and watched some telly. What have you been getting up to today? I hope you are all well. Have a great night.

I have the feeling your nephews were very happy with their presents. I also did not see anything wrong on the ceiling of your bedroom. I am glad that your step-Dad is not going to waste money on this non existing problem.

The nephews sound like well behaved boys you should be happy. Maybe you could get another estimate on the roof issues.

Thank you very much. I've got a good feeling they like they're presents. My Mum will be phoning him up later to talk about the washing machine and invite him to pantomime at church so she can ask him then. It's turning out to be one of those strange days today!
