Did you set your clocks back (fall back) last night before you went to bed? I hope they eventually get rid of this. The most expensive toll road in the United States is the Pennsylvania Turnpike which costs $112.91 (this works out to $.31 per mile) to travel its expanse east to west in the southern half of the state. Truckers pay over $200. 135 days until spring! Breakfast - None Lunch - Macaroni bean soup (yum) Dessert/Snack - Brownie and decaf coffee Dinner - Chicken tenders and potato salad Photo Credit: Pixabay

We turned back last night also. I wish that they would put an end to this madness, I cannot see the advantage of it. Some of our provinces have done away with it already, hopefully Ontario won't be long to follow suit.

We are hoping that it becomes practice here in the States as well.

That soup looks DELICIOUS, although I have never put macaroni in my bean soup, but can find no reason NOT to. In any event, I made a rice stir-fry in the wok last night. Basically, a shrimp and pork fried rice with peas, onions and red peppers. Yummy.

I like pasta fagioli which has beans, macaroni and potatoes. Very carby and filling.

@porwest No recipe here. The pasta fagioli I always had had pasta, beans AND potatoes. I don't think most recipes have the potatoes.

@LindaOHio Hmm. I am going to have to look that up now, unless you have a recipe you'd like to share.

The turnpike is expensive, and we usually use it when we go up to PA too. We have the EZ pass though which makes it alittle more affordable. We like using 68 as an alternative sometimes to go to Erie, but it seems like it takes so much longer. We always end up in traffic somewhere in the Pittsburgh area.

We went to Erie a couple of years ago. Haven't really traveled PA for at least 20 years.

@LindaOHio I was in Cleveland a couple of years ago, when my nephew was still at Case Western. That is a nice area around there. I liked all the flower gardens.

I only have one clock that needs to be set by hand and I just changed it. Every other clock we own changes itself. I ate a ham and cheese sandwich for breakfast and had broccoli and potato soup for lunch yesterday. I didn't eat supper.

My only clock is digital, and it sets itself back. I did wonder why the night felt so long, then I remembered about the time change. Yesterday, I had garlic salmon, a roast beef sandwich, and popcorn.

So the charge is a daily charge? I've never been on a highway with a toll so I don't know how it works. I've seen snipits on TV shows but they really don't splain what people usually pay

It's based on mileage that you travel on the road. There are toll booths along the way that collect the $$.

I switched days!! I ate at Chuy’s yesterday instead of today! The universe is now off-kilter! And for dinner, I had some grilled chicken strips and potatoes. I changed all my clocks during the week. Everyone except the body’s clock, of course. That’s ridiculous about the Pennsylvania Turnpike! All you do on that road is dodge potholes, so I have NO idea what they’re doing with the toll money collected!!!

@LindaOHio — to be fair, it’s been since 1988 when I drove all the way across the thing, but it was awful.

OMG! I think I'm sitting at an angle because you switched days!!! If they have all those potholes, they should be ashamed.

@LindaOHio They know how much the change is bad for kids and worker. Decided which one of the two times you want and keep it once and forever. Winter is dark anyway.

@LadyDuck They are so worried about the kids being out in the dark in the morning; so they probably won't change it.

And here I thought the Florida Turnpike was bad! When you get on the toll roads around Orlando, it seems like there is a toll every half mile!

My PC and laptop set themselves and I only change the clock on my toaster oven, I leave the light-up clock by my bed at the old time so I can make a comparison, I got my groceries and I had a frozen Salisbury steak dinner,

That's expensive! Yes, I turned my clocks back before I went to bed. I haven't heard of macaroni bean soup. It sounds good. Yesterday - Breakfast was a banana and Raisin Bran. Lunch was Chili and a keto sandwich with pumpkin jam. Dinner was a macaroni noodle salad with tuna and shredded cheese. Snack - Dark chocolate M&Ms and Dove Dark Chocolate Promise candy. I kept within the calorie budget.
