Trine Sextile, my favorite Upstairs Head Astrologer and Chief Executive Vice President In Charge Of OtherWorldly Affairs, came to me this morning and said, "You are about to enter Sagittarius on the tenth. Remember shared commitments. Breathe deeply. Think before speaking. Have patience with your soulmate, your romantic life partner, if you will, because it will pay handsome dividends. Or, as Alton Brown would say, 'Your patience will be rewarded." I know you're saying, "Sir, what is she talking about? She knows you don't have a soulmate and/or romantic life partner. Not that you definitively know of, anyway. You have some pretty solid conjecture but that's all. And if you have any shared commitments, you've never told me or anyone else about them. Trine also knows that having and keeping secrets like that is for people who lead exciting vibrant lives and that does not apply to you. Or at least she did know all that. What's wrong with her? Did she have too much candy on Halloween? My Nutrition Coach says too much refined sugar can cause brain damage like that." I had the same reaction. How can I have patience with someone who might not even exist? But then, for no apparent reason, I thought, "What if Trine isn't as brain-damaged as she seems? What if my soulmate does exist and is here? 'Here' in the sense of being somewhere on this planet?" Then, my thoughts became even more perplexing, again, for no reason. What if everyone's, including mine, soulmate is here, even when they aren't yet physically together? And what if everyone knows that but me? Could that explain why all of you kids are so obsessed with body counts? And act like you have a right to be angry and judgemental about things that happened before you even met because both you and she or he knew that you would meet eventually and you should have had the good sense to respect her or his idea of what an allowable body count is, which you somehow just know? And vice versa. If that's the way things are, then I still don't condone the whole pre-relationship body count obsession thing. But at least I have a deeper understanding of it now. What I most want to know is why I'm being kept in the dark about all this. And many other things. Up to and including Everything Else. #WhyDoesn'tAnyoneEverTellMeAnything??? #I'mNotGoodAtFiguringThingsOutOnMyOwn So, what can I do? Besides continuing to be patient with her? It's a good thing I'm a Saint. Because Patience is our biggest thing. Besides our awesome modesty, it's our most outstanding trait.
