That worked well

We tried out a service today. It went well. There's a door to door van service in our community that is part of the public bus service. The service charges three dollars each way plus thirty cents a mile. We found the drivers to be delightful and pleasant to talk with. I really enjoyed looking at Autumn red and gold trees, not focusing on traffic. We decided to have lunch at the seafood restaurant in the city North of us. We have been there many times and found its food super nice and tasty. I love to look out at the bay and the boats in the marina. I saw cormorant birds- big birds, almost big as herons and birds that eat fish, too. I was super delighted to be a passenger on the way back down the freeway. Rain and wind blew in all the way home. Next time maybe I will ask for a ride to Trader Joes grocery store. I have shopped in that store once years ago. I like its better for me offerings but have never had one near me.

If you go please take some shots of how it's set up inside, I don't think we have one in El Paso.

We have a Trader Joe’s not too far but they are so expensive. Sounds like an interesting ride you had.

@RubyHawk It's a shame how better food costs so much. Even a generic 15 ounce can of peaches costs over 2 dollars in my local store.

It sounds like it was a lovely drive, and a great way to get out without worrying about crazy drivers. I’ve never been to a Trader Joe’s, but I’ve never been to a Whole Foods either.

@sallypup I’ve heard so much about them, but I just never had one nearby.

I'm glad the service was as good as you'd hoped. You're really lucky you have something like that available to you.

@DaddyEvil Thanks. I need to look for help like this before I really need the help- for instance, I could use this service to get me to the pool if I couldn't drive.

Yes, I would say as long as it is offered take advantage of it. I rarely get to be a passenger anymore and I miss it. I feel like I spend my whole life in the car sometimes.
