Has Amazon ever done this to you?

I have been ordering occasionally through Amazon for several years, but Christmas has me ordering more than usual, plus there is Vine, which sends an occasional package. So yesterday, I got a package from Amazon, and when asked in an email to rate my delivery, I saw the driver had indicated he had left it at my front door. Yes, he did. Today, I got two packages from Amazon, and I heard them (at 2 different times), put the package in front of my door, and leave. So I go to to rate both deliveries, and both say the delivery was handed to the resident, and she signed it Amber. Uh, no, she didn’t! I have never in my life had the delivery drivers lie and say they gave it to me and I signed for it. So I called Amazon and told them. They said they would review the situation. I asked them if they understood why that worried me even though the packages were left safely, and they did understand. So, I was wondering, has that ever happened to you?

The same is being done by Flipkart. They delivered a defective vacuum cleaner and when they gave them a bad rating they just showed resolved issue in their website close to my order. Amazon once delivered a wrong item to me and didn't take a complain online and didn't take any action.

@AmbiePam Yes, a bad business indeed and therefore we have to depend on the store at times.

No, it never happened to me. I'm glad you reported it to Amazon. They always take a picture of it so I know I got it and can rush to the mailroom for my box. I'm expecting one next week. My books. I can't wait to see the new book.

I always do shopping with Amazon and so far have had no issues They give me a call and then I go to the gate and they place the parcel on the pillar.

That’s very good. I just feel unsettled that their driver lied.

Yikes, not that I can think of. Talk about lazy (not to mention dishonest).

Yes, and it was so unnecessary to do.

It never has to me. But if it's supposed to be signed for I expect them to not leave it until I do

What is weird, is that it didn’t have to be signed for. All they had to do was leave it and my door, and go. Instead, they said they handed it to me and I signed. I don’t understand going to the trouble to lie when it didn’t need a signature.

No, The mail lady has occasionally handed me a package though if she sees me out doing my steps, but no one ever said they handed me a package and didn't.

I’m not sure he was lying. I think they are in such a hurry to get round all the deliveries that they hit the wrong button on their tablet or whatever it is to register delivery. But yes, it’s happened to me.

I really really hope that is the case. I can totally understand how that could happen.

No, I have not had that happen, it is very concerning. When I go back to their site to check my delivery, I can see that the driver would have taken a photo of the package in front of my door. But they never knock or anything, which is fine with me.

Yes, usually I get a picture. This time I got a lie. Hopefully, there is an explanation for his actions I can't think of right now.

I have had no issues with Amazon. I live on the second floor and my packages are put on my friends' front porch and I always get the packages with no incident, Usually at least one person is home all day downstairs,

No, that hasn't happened, but I can see why it was rather disconcerting.

I never paid attention to the signed part when deliveries to my son's for large items. I don't get vine. Wish they would send an offer.

I always have to wonder why people, in this case the delivery guys, lie about something like this. Surely they realise they'll get found out eventually.

I've never had a problem with an Amazon delivery. I have had problems with Fedex though. Have a great day.

Not that I've seen it but Amazon also deals with a lot of third-party partners so it depends on how that third party decides to have it shipped and delivered. If it needs to be signed even with the third person party involved then the delivery person should give it to you and have you sign for insurance not only on their party but for the fact they are working with Amazon. Typically amazon packages do not need to be signed when they come directly from them. The email on delivery will not happen all of the time. Again that comes down to thrid party/amazon rules for that packaged. From one of there trucks they will snap a picture and you'll get in an email or notification if you have the app to show its been delivered and were. I've had it happen where it showed up at the wrong house. I notified amazon and hoped the house it went to bring it to me. They did after opening the package although they could have just looked on the package and saw the name was wrong and location. A lot of people will just open up and take what you got or times they will give it back to you. Me I'm much nicer and if they live near by I just drop it off. I always look at the packaging name before opening especially around the holidays.

That's never happened to me that I know of. That sounds very odd that they would do that!
