What do you do in your country when you buy a couple of items from one food shop but you dont have a bag and you want to buy some more items from another food shop? Do you feel self conscious that you maybe questioned about the other items and asked for a receipt? In England its not done. I dont like doing it so avoid it .

I am spoiled and have a car to toss my items into. But if I was without my car, I guess I'd buy a bag from the first shop (costs about 10 cents), toss my items in there, and definitely get a receipt if I'm going to enter into another shop.

Here they do ask for receipts as you are leaving the store anyway..Walmart does that. Yes I do worry if I got from one shop to another even with a receipt. It is so easy to be accused here.

I can use any bag here as long as I bring it. Now food shops donĀ“t give plastic bags unless it is fresh meat or fish.

I place what I bought in the shopping cart, I move to the other store and no one ever stopped me to ask to show a receipt.

Usually if people drove to the store by car they'd put the items from one store into the car and then go to another store. If I buy a few items and walk to the store then I have a cloth bag with me to put the items in, I have never been asked for a receipt but it is a good idea to take the receipt from each store,

I don't have this problem here. I put what I buy in my car and don't have to bring anything else with me. On top of that, bags are provided.

In my country, cashiers need to give the receipts.

The stores here got rid of the bags. You need to bring your own bag or just put the items back in your cart.

In Georgia, etiquette is to leave your other shopping by the front door if it is not in a bag, nobody touches it. If it is in a bag, just carry on. I tend to bag everything and keep receipts regardless, I do not need the aggravation. In South Africa, Namibia, Botswana you will be prohibited from entering, you will be forced to either dump it at the parcel counter or get a bag and get the bag sealed, backpacks and handbags are routinely searched.
