Testing a theory..Do you remember where you were when you heard John Lennon was murdered?

Some of you are probably not old enough to remember this event but the date of his death was yesterday in 1980 as Dena mentioned in her on this day discussion. I do have vivid memories of being with a co worker about to get on the way to a Christmas party when it came over the radio. The radio was on low, and we couldn't quite hear what was going on. I became suspicious of why they were only playing his music and talking in hushed tones. I asked her if he had died, she turned up the radio where we both heard the shocking news. RIP musicman. The world misses your music. Do you remember where you were when you heard the news?

Yes, it was fairly early when the news broke..we were outside in the car ready to go probably about 10 AM because the party was in another city.

I was just a few months old, but over the years I have seen the clip of Howard Cosell announcing it on Monday Night Football. He sounded like his world had been shaken. I was trying to think of who would get that same reaction in this day and age, but I don’t know if anyone else has had that same impact.

@snowy22315 All the sports shows I watched ended up talking about Robin Williams. That’s rare for sports.

People were pretty shocked and devastated about Robin Williams as well. That was actually a TV bulletin. Jimmy Buffett affected alit of people as well.
