Thanks to everyone for their concern over my anxiety attack earlier this week. This isn’t supposed to look like a calculus problem, but IBS + FD = anxiety. That’s irritable bowel syndrome and functional dyspepsia. Isn’t that a fancy name…”functional dyspepsia.” When I was first diagnosed with that, back in junior high school, it was called a “nervous stomach.” I guess the doctors figured everyone could understand that, so they had to give it a name that would make everyone go “Huh?” It’s the season of giving, and nobody knows that better than my insurance company. I hope they feel festive after that homeowners insurance payment I made. And that’s with a discount for having security????? On the subject of insurance, “they” say that the reason the rates keep going up for our homeowners and car insurances is because insurance is a “cooperative.” I say bull stuffing. If it were a cooperative they wouldn’t be using MY money to pay $2 billion for naming rights for a football stadium!!!! I hope everyone’s ready for the holidays…or, like JJ says, ready for them to be over. Almost time for Festivus! Yes, I’ve never seen an episode of Seinfeld, but I know all about Festivus. The photo is from our local chain of BBQ restaurants, Mark’s. They went “whole hog” in decorating, didn’t they!! Love their pulled chicken and their turkey!! Y’all have a great evening, and a great day, and a great weekend!!!

@FourWalls I can see it now. I was trying to equate it to pulled chicken and/or turkey. Once you know they're pigs, it's blindingly obvious.

Sorry to hear of your panic attack. I hate those. Used to get them quite often but now not so much. Insurance is sure a headache. It can be god sent when it works and is needed but a real horror when it doesn't.

For a moment I thought that the two hogs were real, but I could not figure out why their "faces" were shining.

I wonder if anyone has been drunk enough to try to turn them (they’re concrete) into a ham sandwich.

@FourWalls You made me laugh because I bought those scented candles shaped like candies for my sister in law (years ago), she ate one.

What’s scary is it would be nearly $100 more if I didn’t have a security system!

Glad you're feeling better. The insurance companies should be imprisoned for the rates that they are charging. Our car insurance and home insurance both took a huge increase. Have a great weekend.

Robert Klein once said that insurance is legalized gambling: “I’llmbet you a hundred dollars a month ‘til you die that you don’t die!”

@FourWalls lol It's like this cancer insurance that we have. I think it's pointless; but hubby said to keep it in force.

I hear you about the car insurance. It’s ridiculous. Nervous stomach sounds flighty, doesn’t it. When reality is something different.

I can understand them not wanting to insure a Kia or Hyundai because of the thefts, but my brother drives less in a year than I do in three months and he’s paying as much as I do!

My daughter's friend had something like that too . . . in middle school . . . due to stress. Insurance - I am not liking any of where it's going . Festivus - we love Seinfeld . So fun to see creative decorations - I love a good bbq too! Hope you have a good week!

Smoked chicken is out of this world! We moved so much when I was young that the stress of new schools all the time probably caused mine as well. Insurance might be the “bank failure” of the 21st century (the bank failure being what caused the Great Depression).

That anxiety attack was of my own doing…got too heavily involved in too many things, and I know I can’t do that. Thank you. I’ve survived ‘em all thus far, and this one didn’t kill me, either.
