So, inbetween all the drama that I detailed in my previous post, I did manage to finish the street scene I was doing. I put in the lightest shade of pink on the blossom first, then a slightly darker shade of pink, and then some violet for the darker areas. I waited for each colour to dry before adding another. I then put in some details, like the lamp, the window boxes, the plants and some extra touches to the walls and windows. When it came time to do the cat in the foreground, I did some practicing on a scrap piece of paper first. But I just couldn't get it the way I wanted it. The legs always seemed too fat, the tail too straight, the head didn't quite fit the body. So in the end I decided to do it with fine liner pen! I practiced doing it with the fine liner pen on the scrap piece of paper, and it was much better. So I did the cat on the actual painting in fine liner pen, only doing his shadow with paint. Then I signed it and put it aside to dry. When Frances came back with my Mum and step-dad from the luncheon club, I asked her if she wanted to see my work in progress. So she came and had a look and she was really impressed with it. Then I asked her if she wanted to see the other pictures I've been doing since the art class finished, so she came in my bedroom and I showed her the paintings that I've been doing. She was well impressed with the fox! After I'd finished the painting of the street scene, and put it aside to dry, I got out another drawing of a boat to start on. I only managed to do the sky though before it was time fir for me to go to bed. I don't know if I'll be doing any painting next week because the luncheon club has broken for it's Christmas holidays, but I'll just have to wait and see. I also don't know if I'm going shopping tomorrow, because I don't know what the weather is going to be doing! But I need to get some more sea bass from Iceland because I've only got two I hope you all had a great day (better than mine!) Have a good night.
