Seeing you here just made my entire day! What a nice surprise! You don't know how much I miss interacting with you Dianne! I was just asking about you the other day, and hoping that you and your family have been doing well.

@moffittjc Aww, thanks! I wasn’t planning to return here until January, but couldn’t help myself and created my first post since April! Unbelievable!!! I have thought of you countless times and especially when I think of Florida. We have been well, but had such a busy year. Enjoy Disney!

@moffittjc That sounds like a good plan! Even laughing at the miserable adults who can’t enjoy themselves.

You have such a gracious, appreciative and humble attitude for the gifts you received! Everyone should be like that! I hope you have a wonderful new year as well. Any big plans for NYE?

@AmbiePam I will be watching NYE fireworks at Disney World. These days, I hate going out anymore, but I suck it up at Christmas/NYE to brave the crowds at Disney. I pretty much just do a lot of people watching, and laugh at all the people who are completely miserable at the Happiest Place on Earth.

@moffittjc that sounds so much the opposite of what you expect for Disney world for people to be so miserable. How you wrote it made me laugh though.

@moffittjc oh that does make perfect sense. They really should start setting limits to the amount of families they allow in daily so people can enjoy it more. It’s extremely expensive to not have fun. I’m glad you got it all down after so many years that you know just what to do to have fun.

Yes, it's a picture of me in my office at work. One of the few times I am actually having a good time at work. LOL Thank you, Disney is super crowded at this time of year, but we make the best of it and have a great time nonetheless. I like to people watch, so it's fun to see the tens of thousands of people pack into the theme park and be completely miserable at the Happiest Place on Earth. You are lucky to be so spoiled by your husband! Enjoy it to the fullest!

Thank you. I was more aware than ever this year how much the Christmas holiday can take a toll on people. I've come across so many saddened souls who do not see this as a wonderful time of year. I have tried to be empathetic and understanding to all. One of my co-workers lost her grandmother on Christmas Eve, and all I could do was hold her tight in a loving hug and let her know that I would be there for her and help her get through it the best I can. She's from Argentina, and so that made it even more stressful to her trying to figure out how to get down there as quickly as possible, considering it was Christmas.

@MarieCoyle And another part of it is that we have turned Christmas into such a commercial holiday that there is added pressure to spend more and more money buying more and more presents. Many people are struggling financially and don't need all that added pressure.

@moffittjc Oh, the poor lady, I'm so sorry for her. Yes, I have never seen a Christmas like this one. So many that had basically no Christmas, or just plain lacked the spirit of even trying to celebrate. I think a lot of people pared way down this year. Unfortunately, it seems there is so much sickness right now as well. Take good care, Jeff.

@moffittjc Over the past 10 odd years, people are having Christmas trees, localised parties during the Christmas days. Plus a lot of Offline and Online retailers give a lot of Mega "Offers", "Sales" and a lot and well, people spend like anything. How genuine these sales & offers are is something we cannot be sure !

@moffittjc Yes it is what is known as "Crass Commercialization" and I might be a bit off the mark, but I wonder if all the folks celebrating and buying on Christmas know it's true value and the meaning !

Do you really celebrate Christmas in India? That kind of caught me by surprise. But I guess Christmas can be celebrated anywhere and everywhere throughout the world.

@RebeccasFarm Lovely! I've always dreamed of a white Christmas! One year, it must have been about 15 or so years ago, we got snow flurries on Christmas morning for about 20 seconds! lol. That's about the best we can hope for in Florida!

@moffittjc Thanks, it was a quiet Boxing Day here this year. My fever is 38.3C currently. I will eat some chicken soup in a bit and then take a shower to try to lower my body temperature and drink some cold apple juice. I went years without so much as a sniffle until the twins arrived, they are very social, and interact with both sides of their family as well as with our son's wide circle of friends, who all have at least 1 child, some of which are in daycare. Those are the germ sponges.

Sickness is never a fun thing around the holidays. I really hope everyone in your family feels well soon. Oh, I forgot to wish you a happy Boxing Day earlier!

I heard this wonderful commercial on the radio the other day, talking about how life doesn't have to be so hectic if we don't let it be that way. The commercial encouraged listeners to slow down in 2024, be less anxious and hectic, and just enjoy life. That sure hit home with me. I think I will try to live by those wise words next year.

@TheHorse I can't remember the last time I sat at home for New Years Eve. We're always at Disney World on NYE.

@moffittjc Actually, I don;t. Ms Horse and I used to chill on New Years Eve and I have carried on the tradition.

I hope you enjoyed the Hanukah season. I have many wonderful Jewish friends here that celebrated the holiday. How are you? I've been worried about all my Israeli friends due to what is going on in Gaza.

@Hannihar I have been praying for your country and the safety of the people. May your military find victory over your adversaries.

@moffittjc Hannuka was not the same this year because of the war. My cat and I are ok. Thank you for your concern about us. This is something our soldiers have to do in Gaza is to get rid of our enemies so we can live in peace and quiet and enjoy our holidays.

My daughter was playing Pentatonic music on her phone on Christmas morning. They are such a wonderful group, and their harmonies are excellent. I've always loved their music. Thanks for the compliment on the photo. It's not often the camera doesn't shatter when it points in my direction! haha

@LindaOHio I heard their version of "Mary, Did You Know?" on Christmas Day! I hope you continue to enjoy their music throughout the holiday season.

I’ve noticed the slowdown as well on this site, but understand it’s because of the time of year. After New Years Day, activity will pick up again.

I know it's hard sometimes, but we really shouldn't let our circumstances dictate our feelings and attitudes. It sounds like you made the best of your situation. I always try to do the same.

Thank you! I hope you had a nice, quiet Christmas as well. We arrived at our second home--aka Disney World--yesterday morning to a rainy, gloomy day. Perfect weather, kept the majority of the crowds away! LOL. I was joking with my daughter, because at this time of year Disney is overcrowded with the entire population of England, and I told her that this gloomy, rainy weather was just like home to them!

I am sorry to hear that Diana. I hope you can bounce back and have a wonderful 2024. I will have a talk with Santa if I see him and let him know you deserve better in 2024.

Make sure to invite me over when you serve reindeer up on the menu! Not only do I want to try barbecued reindeer, I also want to see the look on Jolly St. Nick’s face when he sees what you’ve cooked up!
