Do You Like Girl Scout Cookies?

Girl Scout Cookies went on sale January 11 in 12 different flavors. The Girl Scouts were founded in 1912; and the first known sale of Girl Scout Cookies was made in 1917. During World War II Girl Scouts sold calendars along with the cookies due to shortages of flour, sugar and butter. During the normal sale period from January through April more than 1 million girls sell over 200 million packages and raise over $800 million. Here are the cookies on sale for 2024: Adventurefuls, Caramel Chocolate Chip, Caramel deLites/Samoas, Do-si-dos/Peanut Butter Sandwich, Girl Scout S'mores, Lemonades, Lemon-Ups, Peanut Butter Patties/Tagalongs, Thin Mints, Toast-Yay, Toffee-tastic and Trefoils. How much are Girl Scout Cookies? Each of the 111 Girl Scout councils set their own prices. The last time I bought a box they were $5 each. I'm sure they are more by now. My favorites are Lemonades, Trefoils and Thin Mints. What about you? Have you ever had Girl Scout Cookies? What are your favorite flavors? Photo Credit: Pixabay

Not sure I have ever tried actual girl scout cookies. I have tried knockoffs from the store. My choices would be peanut butter ones and smores sound good.

@LindaOHio Just going with safe choices. I know I wouldn't like the ones with coconut, etc... lol

I remember selling Girl Scout cookies when I was a Girl Scout. It was a fun time. My favorite cookies are Thin Mints and Caramel DeLites. There are a lot more cookies than when I was a scout.

@just4him That's very cool. Our leader got a divorce; and the group was disbanded. :-(

I love the Smores, I never had Toffee-tastic. That is a new flavor I would be interested in trying.

@LindaOHio usually the scouts stand outside our local stores so it's easy enough to buy them. I remember the "old" days when you had to order them and wait for delivery. . I haven't looked but I bet you can buy them online. Everything seems to be available online these days

@LindaOHio As far as I know I have never encountered them here so have not had them in ages. I used to be a Girl Scout and sold the cookies. I do not remember which ones I liked best.

I think I have had a Girl Scount cookie once, but I think it was from someone else who had bought them. I just don’t know any Girl Scouts. I know another girl group like the Girl Scouts only less well known, but they don’t sell cookies.

I LOVE them!! But they don’t love me at this lower weight, so I’ll skip them. My favorites are thin mints and Samoas.

I used to like them more than I do now. Either I grew out of them, or they just aren't special to me anymore. But then again, I don't have the sweet tooth I used to, so that's probably part of it too.

@LindaOHio No. They really aren't. I used to love the Thin Mints. I'd put them in the freezer and grab one here and there. The last time I did that I just wasn't all that impressed.

It's just not like it was years ago when I was a little Girl Scout selling cookies. It was safe to go door-to-door. Now, either Mom or Dad or someone has to go with the child, it's just a given. Those little bitty boxes of cookies are now $6 per box. Honestly, that's a lot. I think I would rather just donate some money to the Girl Scouts.
