Peyton Prescott would given anything for the carefree life she knew before breast cancer changed everything. But instead of using her second chance to move forward, she's stuck promoting the memoir of her brother convince her to write, thus reliving the very battle she wants to forget. Mitch Mathis, Peyton's PR guy, has relied on discipline to achieve his goals, and with his new firm's success riding on Peyton's book launch, he must keep on her task. They're in Europe for business, not pleasure. And Mitch won't let unbridled desire harm his professional reputation - not again. When frustrated expectations and attraction throw the tour into chaos, it challenges everything Mitch and Peyton believe about themselves, life, and love, forcing these opposites to consider whether they can embrace the change they need to grow. ~~~~ This is book 3 in a series. I failed to read 1 and 2 because I didn't have them in my possession. The author advised I read them in order but I never listened to that because who knows when I'm going to get the other copies? (I have book 1 now - The Memory of You). I have to say I feel reading The Wonder of Now without having read The Memory of You (book 1), and The Promise of Us (book 2) first didn't make a darn bit of difference to me. (Though it might when I read the others). In my opinion, The Wonder of Now can be read as a standalone. This story was heartbreaking, emotional, painful, and moving. The story of someone in the middle of cancer recovery was very eye opening for me. I have never really known anyone with cancer, at least not their private struggles. And Peyton falling in love in the middle of that made it so much harder. Who wants to take a chance on love if they don't know if they will be around for awhile? Jamie Beck has written yet again another wonderful story. A story of family, life, illness, love, health struggles, mental and emotional struggles, and friendship. (And yes, I shed some tears). I highly recommend this book BUT, you may want to take the author's advice and read the first two books in the series beforehand.

Thanks for the review, It sounds interesting, I like reading books in series but usually go according to the way the books have been published, I get fond of certain characters and then look forward to reading more about them in the following books,

The thing is... there is no indication in the book (where the series are listed) that this book is part of a series. If it is the third book, you would think it would be listed with the first two in the series. Or indicated on the cover that it is the third book in a series, especially is you should be reading them in order.

I know a few survivors and have listened to their stories so this book would not be for me.

Probably not. She had some extreme surgery done along with everything else that comes with cancer.

Yeah, the mastectomies, chemo and radiation is almost not worth the bother.
