The well is all fixed

Friday my husband took the day off to get the well fixed. He made two trips to the hardware store and brought us home donuts from Dunkin Donuts. He needed to go back to the hardware store for yet another part. The guys he works with didn’t show up for work the day before or Friday so he wound up having to go back to work. Saturday my husband got everything but bathroom sink working then he and his son went hunting. A trickle was all that was coming out of the washing machine so decided to go to laundrymat. 7 loads and $40 later it was done. I brought three wet loads home to dry here to save money. As soon as I got in the driveway my husband Glenn texted me that everything was fixed…come to find out it was just clogged screens in the sinks and washing machine. Sunday I spent most the day catching up on housework after not having water for 3 days. Unfortunately over the weekend my mop broke as well so I had to wash the floors by hand each time the dogs ran in and out in the snow and mud. The photo is unrelated. It is of the puppy’s eye. We noticed it was odd when we brought her home at 10 weeks old. My husband thought she had a lazy eye and I thought she was going to have a cherry. I don’t think either is the problem now. It’s not getting infected or bothering her but does look much more noticeable so I took a photo to compare over the next few months. If gets worse she’ll need to go to a vet.

It must be nice to have a handy hubby even if he is a pain.

it's nice & helpful to have some 1 around that can fix things when you can't rely on any 1 BUT your spouse which is where I am trying to get the cabin done, hope all goes well for the dogs eye, we have 6 dogs that we look after & it's a job.

I am glad that your husband worked to fix everything. I know what is the problem of your dog, it is called "eyelid ectropion" Ectropion is an abnormality of the eyelids in which the lower eyelid “rolls” outward, and appeara droopy. Certain breeds have a higher incidence of ectropion than others. Some dogs are born with it. You should see a vet to avoid that it gets infected.

Her eye doesn’t look droopy to me like the ones I saw photos of online like cocker spaniels that get droopy but it may in a matter of time. It’s been looking worse over the past month her third eye. It’s about $1000 for the surgery so unless it gets infected or seems to bother her a lot I wouldn’t plan on fixing it. I personally don’t think we can afford it but he shouldn’t have gotten her until we had a lot more money saved up since spending the $1000 to buy her left us with not enough to finish a fence to keep her in the yard.

@shaggin The eye will look droopy as the time passes. I think you do not need surgery, only a product to keep the eye clean, just in case it becomes droopy.

I could imagine how you and your husband' have been busy. I too have plenty of work to complete. Two days ago I repaired our sewing machine and it is functioning almost perfectly.

@franxav there isn’t much I would be able to fix so I am very impressed you were able to fix your sewing machine. Great job!

@Dena91 I think it’s something to do with her third eye that’s about as far as I went looking into it.

Sorry your mop broke. Maybe the puppy's eye is just unique. Glad you had donuts. I love donuts.

@mildredtabitha I went to get a new refill part for the mop and Walmart didn’t have any . I have to remember to order one online. No it’s definitely some kind of condition with the third eye.

@GardenGerty we threw out my last washer thinking it just was too old and messing up constantly but then when then we one started doing the same thing I realized it was old clogged up hoses that go to the washing machine. Would have been a cheap fix had I realized sooner.

@Barbaraprz she wondered why she was behind the gate and me putting my phone in front of her face. She probably wanted to get out and run around.

Yours was a serious issue . In our case it is just that the water returns to the well but at a slow pace. We only need to pump up water a couple of time more in the day I have no intention to call the plumber as he may mess it up further.

@jstory07 it is wonderful to have water again. It was a rough 3 days but it could have been worse. My parents living close to get water was a life saver.

@Tampa_girl7 yes I was shocked how expensive it was. It would have been even more if I had used the dryers for the last three loads instead of bringing it home to dry them in my dryer.

@RasmaSandra I hope it never does bother her but it seems unlikely. As a hunting dog she’s going to be running through a lot of dirt and brush and I can imagine it will get in her eye and cause an infection. Time will tell.

@thelme55 it sure was a hectic time and I am so glad to have water back and be able to clean and not have to run to my moms for jugs of freezing water to clean things with. The laundromat was so expensive I’m so thankful to have my own washer and dryer to use and not have to pay those prices like others have to.

@Fleura at first I thought this said winter instead of water and was like no way . Things have gone smoothly here since unless you count the dogs vomiting for whatever reason three different days.
