GOOD-BYE JANUARY

United States
January 31, 2024 10:48am CST
You won't find me complaining that January is over. In fact, this last day hasn't started off very well and if I didn't know the date I would swear it's Friday the 13th! I didn't sleep well last night so naturally I rely on my coffee to jump start my brain. This morning the coffee tasted much stronger than normal so maybe I lost count when scooping the coffee into the pot? Maybe the universe was telling me I was going to need extra strong coffee today? Sat down with my mug of magic beans to check the weather and watch an early morning tv show when Hulu started freezing and acting up. Turned the tv off and then back on and still problems with Hulu. So I missed the show, the weather and the news. But, it came back on so all is well (or so I thought) Did a few things, started my crockpot with sauce for tonights dinner, made my breakfast and sat down to myLot while I had my second cup of coffee and eat So, what do you think happened? The power went out.... Does this sound like Friday the 13th to you??

Brain working equals coffee. That's all we need to know. Yes it does ..just reverse the 31 to 13.

It seems better now. Power is back and fingers crossed that all the malfunctions are over.

@Marilynda1225 I know this is one of the worst times of year to lose power. I assumed you found some power source to type that post. Glad it didn't last long.

The power finally came back after about a half hour. I was sitting in my open power recliner when it went out so I was stuck for awhile but the good thing is I had gone to the bathroom before the power went out So far nothing else has gone haywire

It doesn't sound like Friday thirteenth. Glad January is ending. Sorry you didn't sleep well last night. Coffee is known to keep people awake longer. Don't drink it before bed.

Wow, you really got zapped. It sounds like Friday the 13th. Maybe your bad luck is done for the year, hopefully. I find January to be one of the longest months. It just seems to last forever with the short dark days, cold weather, little sunshine, clouds, and gloom. February is shorter and then spring is usually in the air, hopefully.

January has been the dreariest month this year with only a handful of sunny days. I'm ready for spring!!

I'm glad you can laugh about it but there wasn't much to laugh about in your day. Hopefully tomorrow will be much improved.

Well if I didn't laugh I would have cried with everything that was going wrong but the afternoon turned out problem free and the rest of the day was fine.

@JudyEv I never heard that saying before but it's interesting how some sayings become popular and stick around for ages.

@Marilynda1225 It's amazing sometimes how many things can go wrong in a single day. My sister would say 'we must have killed a Chinaman'. I don't know how that saying came about. lol

Power came back after about a half hour and Hulu decided to behave. The rest of the day was fine but it's just weird that we had an issue with the power since we weren't experiencing any storms or high winds.

Gosh. Terrible about your Hulu issues. I can't figure it out, but I have been suffering Internet issues all damn day long and it is beginning to make me a bit angry. Enough that I got up from my desk and shouted some foul words quite loudly before going into the living room to reset the wi-fi and it must have been abrupt enough that the cats tore off and hid. lol

Funny that we both are having internet issues today. I've been known to throw a fit on occasion especially when it comes to technology and I know nothing about it. Hope your issues resolved themselves and the cats came out of hiding.

@porwest glad things got better once you rebooted the wi-fi and the cats felt it was safe to come out of hiding Hope there aren't any more issues

@Marilynda1225 They did. The cats, that is. They came out of hiding. lol. Luckily once I rebooted the wi-fi the problem seemed to get better, so I am not sure what was going on there. But it was frustrating to say the least.
