Tap has been replaced.

We had a broken tap, luckily not spraying water everywhere, but just a loud stream jetting into the sink. Landlady says no plumber needed, no problem, just buy new tap, is cheap. My son in law will put in. OK, sure, very easy. Clever me decide to take pictures from every conceivable angle and of every connector and fitting. Off we go to the hardware store. Oddly, here nothing is soldered and there are no copper with reducing shafts and a million little funny fittings just to connect a normal piece of kitchen hardware. How civilized - all you need is screwdriver and adjustable pliers, because everything is fitted with nuts and bolts. OF COURSE, in the grand tradition of plumbing DIY, the first connectors are too short. (Yes clever me only measured the pipe width, not the connector length) All the way back to the hardware store, get the new connectors and Bob's your uncle! We have a tap that does what taps are supposed to do. And for a bit of lost in translation: Teflon tape please? Shake of the head, shrug, don't know? Plumber's tape please? Repeat performance... PTFE Tape? Repeat perfomance... Google a @#@$ picture Ahh! you want WATER TAPE, big grin. Thank heavens I did not need hemp fibre, that would have taken things to a whole new level
