Good morning lovely mylotters. I hope you are having a great day. This morning when I was taking an academic survey I had to write a 1,000 word essay using Chat GPT. I did it, but the essay was short, only about 500 words. I asked again specifically for 1,000 words, and still it spit out something shorter. So, I used a different part of the topic and got another 500 words. I had to integrate the two with some of my own writing in the middle though so it seemed fluid. Have you used Chat GPT? What has your experience been with it?

I have not used Chat GPT, I have noticed my husband experimenting with it.

@snowy22315 Not at all, they had to upload millions of books so that the system could be trained.

@snowy22315 - I have read that there are entire books written using Chat GPT. ChatGPT is now facing a lawsuit claiming that OpenAI used copyrighted books without permission to train its AI systems. I would not be surprised at all. They surely had to train the system in order to come out with a good content.

I have heard of Chat GPT, but don't really understand what it is. Good luck!

It is just artificial intelligence. You can ask it to do different things for you, answer queries etc. Kind of like Alexa.

@dfollin No, totally free all you have to do is create an account. Could help the kids with homework etc. However, most teachers probably don't allow it. It is a neat tool to have in your back pocket though

No, I haven't. I prefer to do my own writing. I'm glad you got it to work.

@snowy22315 But it wouldn't be my work. No matter how good it is. I wouldn't accept it. Nor could I offer something as mine when it wasn't.

@just4him It would just be to see what it says. You aren't under any obligation to use it In fact since as you pointed out it isn't your work, you shouldn't.

I've only played around with it but found it quite good. I haven't asked it for a specific number of words.

@JudyEv I am not sure why it didn't. It might have had a glitch or something.

I have been impressed by it. However, if you ask for a specific amount of words, they should deliver that.

@snowy22315 I'm a bit surprised it didn't. When our son first showed us, it gave the number of words we asked for.

Wow. I didn't know chat gpt could write articles with specified word count. Is chat gpt articles plagiarism free? Sorry it didn't give you exactly 1000 words. I am yet to use it.

As far as I know it is stuff generated from the AI. If you want to use it for a class or something, you would probably have to check to see if it is allowed. I think it most cases, it probably isn't because what you get from them isn't your original work.

I haven't used it, but one of my therapists told me that I can talk there instead of talking to him. So it can replace therapy. This is what he said.
